Dakota Johnson's Dad Reveals What She Said to Him When He Told Her She Would Be Cut Off Financially

Dakota Johnson‘s dad, actor Don Johnson, revealed the story of what happened when he told his daughter she would no longer be on his payroll.

The story came out during Don‘s appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

“The funny thing about her is—we have a rule in the family that, you know, if you stay in school, you get to stay on the payroll. So, you go to college, you get to stay on the payroll. Towards the end of high school, I went to her and I said, ‘So, do you want to go visit some colleges?’ Or something like that. And she was like, ‘Oh, no. I’m not going to college,’” Don recalled.

Don indicated that if she wasn’t going to college she “won’t be on the payroll anymore.” Don said he asked how she was going to manage and she responded, “Don’t you worry about it.”

“Three weeks later she had nailed down that part in David Fincher‘s The Social Network,” Don said. Wow!

Dakota Johnson's Dad Don Was Surprised By Her Acting Career

Dakota Johnson‘s dad Don Johnson, who is an acting legend himself, is opening up about his daughter’s career and how it took him by surprise.

The 69-year-old Knives Out actor says he didn’t know that Dakota wanted to be an actress until she became an adult.

“That’s a story in itself. I didn’t know that she wanted to do it. She hadn’t shared that with us,” Don told The Guardian. “So she’s 18, I think, at the time and I’m going: ‘OK, I’ll just keep my eye on her and reach out and catch her.’ Ha ha, that’s the last I saw of Dakota. She has the goods.”

Don even thinks that she’s the best actor in the family, better than both him and mom Melanie Griffith.

“She’s a wonderful actress, and in some ways better than her mother and me,” he said.

Daniel Craig Confirms Whether or Not He Has American Passport

Daniel Craig is opening up about his citizenship status.

The 51-year-old British actor, known for playing James Bond, spoke to any rumors at the premiere of his latest film Knives Out in Los Angeles.

“Everybody in this country’s an immigrant,” he told People. “That’s what the country’s built upon. We can’t forget it. We can’t just dismiss it … but it’s difficult, and it takes thought, and it takes smart people thinking about it instead of dividing people along party lines … and also along this anger that kind of builds up.”

“It needs to be discussed … and that’s hard,” he continued. “Good things are hard to do. I’m incredibly proud to be part of this, to have an American passport and call myself an immigrant in this country.”

“I’m part of an amazing period in history that created this country and I’m proud to be a part of it,” he added.

Knives Out premieres on November 27. Watch the trailer!
