Armie Hammer Won't Be Spending Thanksgiving With His Kids For This Reason

It doesn’t look like Armie Hammer will be spending the Thanksgiving holiday with his children this year.

According to a report from People, the 34-year-old actor has had some trouble getting back down to the Cayman Islands to spend the holiday with his children, Harper, 5, and Ford, 3.

A source revealed that Armie “was supposed to fly to the Cayman Islands, quarantine and then spend Thanksgiving with the kids and his family, flying back to L.A. all together in mid December.”

But, he’s decided that it’s not the smartest thing to do right now.

The insider added that Armie “never willingly abandoned his plan to go to the Cayman Islands, he was unable to travel there after repeated attempts. When air travel reopened, he applied for a visa that has not been approved.”

Armie and estranged wife Elizabeth Chambers announced their split earlier this year, after spending quarantine in the Caymans together with their kids.

Just recently, he has also put in a request for the kids and Elizabeth to return to the US after he filed for joint custody.

A source recently told People that Elizabeth wants the kids to have a normal experience right now, which they can have in the Cayman Islands. The kids area actually attending the same school that their dad attended as a kid. The source said, “These are crazy times with COVID-19, shutting schools down in L.A. and Elizabeth just wants the kids to have a normal experience.”

Armie Hammer Requests Ex Elizabeth Chambers & Kids Return to U.S. as He Files for Joint Custody

Armie Hammer and Elizabeth Chambers‘ divorce has taken a turn.

After announcing their split back in July, the 34-year-old actor has filed for joint custody of his kids and is requesting that Elizabeth, 38, return to the United States with their kids.

Elizabeth and kids Harper, 5, and Ford, 3, have been quarantining in the Cayman Islands for the past several months. Armie returned to Los Angeles shortly after they announced their separation.

“As the coronavirus pandemic worsened in the United States, Elizabeth and Armie elected to stay with their children temporarily in the Cayman Islands where the pandemic appeared to be under greater control,” Armie‘s lawyers stated in legal documents, according to The Blast. “Armie returned to Los Angeles this past July, with a promise from Elizabeth that she and the children would follow shortly thereafter. To date, however, Elizabeth and the children remain in the Cayman Islands and Armie has not seen the children in several months now.”

Also in the filing, Armie said, “When I asked Elizabeth when she was coming home, however, she first told me that the airports were closed. Then I was informed through her attorneys that flights were merely limited but that she and our children would be back in Los Angeles on the first flight in October.”

He continued, “It is now several weeks into October and they have not returned.”

Armie was seen out with one famous celeb just a few weeks ago, and then was seen with another celeb’s ex a short time later.

Elizabeth Chambers' Son Ford Needed Stitches After 'Random' & Scary Fall

Elizabeth Chamber‘s son is on the mend after a “random” and scary fall.

The 38-year-old Food Network personality took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday night (October 6) to reveal that her 3-year-old son Ford “fell out of bed while he was sleeping and clipped his cheek on the bedside table.”

If you didn’t know, Elizabeth shares son Ford and daughter Harper, 5, with estranged husband Armie Hammer. Elizabeth and the kids are currently quarantining in the Cayman Islands while Armie went back to the United States to work.

“After hours of crying (both of us), excessive bleeding (so much blood), Hops becoming sick because she feels the way I do about blood, here we are,” Elizabeth continued.

“Thank you @drjasondiamond (who let me know we need stitches for my angel babe in the morning) and to my mom, dad and brother for being there,” Elizabeth concluded. “So much love for the parents who do it alone.”

We’re glad to hear Ford is doing ok!

Armie Hammer Breaks Silence on Elizabeth Chambers Split

Armie Hammer is making his first extensive comments about his separation from his wife Elizabeth Chambers, which was announced in early July.

“Look, I don’t think you’ll find anyone in the world who would ever say what I’m going through is an easy thing to go through. It’s not about whether it was your idea or not, or whether you think it’s the right idea or you don’t. Either way, a separation like this is a seriously seismic event in someone’s life. And there’s a lot of shifting and a lot of growing pains and a lot of changes,” Armie told GQ.

He continued, “Change is a universal constant. I mean, change is not a bad thing always, but that doesn’t mean it’s painless. Elizabeth and I are two adults making this decision and the priority is how do we do it in a way that affects our children the least? Or, at least, how do we help get them through this in a way that mitigates as much consternation or fear or damage on their part, you know?”

Armie spoke about how quarantine impacted him and what it was really like being locked down in the Caribbean Cayman Islands.

He said, “I don’t know if there is really ever a good place to quarantine. The experience sucked so badly. The island itself handled the situation really efficiently, but they also handled it in a really intense way. It was a very draconian lockdown. They wouldn’t fly anywhere, or at least not to America. Everything was closed. I mean, everything – the gas stations, the grocery stores… Everyone just locked themselves in their house. If you’re out and they see you, you go to jail for a year. I am not kidding. One guy violated curfew by five minutes and they put them in jail for four months. They were not fucking around.”

Armie was seen out with one famous celeb just a few weeks ago, and then was seen with another celeb’s ex a short time later.

“A couple days late and my sad signs didn’t survive the humidity or enthusiasm,” Elizabeth wrote. “BUT, Monday marked their second week of kindergarten and pre-k IRL in GC and the first day of Zoom Kindergarten for Hops at her school in LA. Happy back-to-school, whatever that means to you! ❤️”

Elizabeth and the kids have been quarantining in the Cayman Islands since the beginning of the pandemic.

Back in July, Elizabeth and husband Armie Hammer announced they were splitting up after 10 years of marriage.

The 34-year-old actor was with them for the first few months, but recently returned to Los Angeles where he has been working in a very different profession.
