Serinda Swan Will Play Elizabeth Taylor in Upcoming Movie 'Devotion'

Serinda Swan has joined the cast of the upcoming Korean War movie Devotion.

The 36-year-old actress, best known for the shows Inhumans and Graceland, will be playing the role of legendary actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Devotion tells “the true story of U.S. Navy fighter pilots, Jesse Brown (Jonathan Majors) and Tom Hudner (Glen Powell), two young men from different worlds. Initiated together into the VF-32 squadron, they are pushed to their limits flying a new design of fighter jet. But their friendship is tested when one of them is shot down behind enemy lines.”

Deadline reports that Taylor enters the picture when she “encounters the 32s during their shore leave in Cannes, France.”

Also starring in the movie are Joe Jonas, Thomas Sadoski, Spencer Neville, Daren Kagasoff, and Nick Hargrove.

“Feeling incredibly honored to be joining such an amazing cast and crew for @devotionmovie and to be bringing Elizabeth Taylor to the screen (I know there are some children that follow me so I cannot express how I truly feel but…. i mean you get it 🤯),” Serinda wrote on Instagram.

Serinda also gave a shout-out to director J.D. Dillard and said, “I cannot wait to work with you again my friend, thank your for the trust and opportunity.”

Rachel Weisz to Play Elizabeth Taylor in Movie About Her AIDS Activism

Rachel Weisz is set to portray the legendary actress and AIDS activist Elizabeth Taylor in an upcoming movie.

The film, A Special Relationship, will follow her “AIDS activism throughout the 1980s after she hired a new personal assistant, a gay man named Roger Wall, who grew up in poverty in a homophobic region of the Deep South before becoming one of Taylor’s closest friends,” EW reports.

The movie was written by Slumdog Millionaire‘s Simon Beaufoy, who collected hours worth of interviews with those closest to her.

“Audiences are clearly fascinated by the private lives of iconic Hollywood stars,” the producers said. “There is no one more iconic than Elizabeth Taylor, and Simon Beaufoy has written a role that shines a light on Elizabeth’s humor and humanity which will be beautifully brought to life through the extraordinary talents of Rachel Weisz. At its heart, A Special Relationship is a story of friendship and what better way of guaranteeing that translates to the screen than trusting the directing talents of real-life best friends and creative collaborators Bert & Bertie. Troop Zero dazzled audiences at Sundance and, like that film, A Special Relationship is a celebration of how friendships can change people’s lives, and how Elizabeth helped change the world.”

Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson - Get First Look & Watch the 'Urban Myths' Trailer!

Joseph Fiennes is going to be playing the role of the late singer and entertainer Michael Jackson in an upcoming segment on Sky Arts’ Urban Myths and the first look is here!

The casting of a white actor as Michael caused a lot of controversy after the news was announced last year.

Joseph is joined in the program by Stockard Channing as the late Elizabeth Taylor and Brian Cox as the late Marlon Brando. The story is about the alleged road trip that the three stars went on after 9/11.

Joseph previously defended his casting by saying that Michael “definitely had an issue, a pigmentation issue, and that’s something I do believe. He was probably closer to my color than his original color.” He told Entertainment Tonight that there’s nothing malicious about the performance.

Eddie and Elizabeth were married for five years before divorcing.

While promoting her latest memoir – Unsinkable: A Memoir – on Good Morning America in 2015, Debbie opened up about rebuilding her friendship with Elizabeth while they were on a cruise together.

Elizabeth and I went on a cruise ship and we were on the same boat … she sent a note to me and I sent a note to her to say ‘Let’s just forget about it,’” Debbie said about the time when they buried the hatchet in the late 1960s.

The two remained friendly until Elizabeth‘s death in 2011.
