Elle Fanning looks like Brad Pitt‘s doppleganger.

“That’s me,” Elle said during the Tonight Show appearance where she explained that her and her The Great co-stars often did these types of challenges. “That’s Brad Pitt in his beard bead phase when he wore beard beads and basically we would do this on set, it was called the Doppelgänger Challenge and, like, the set of ‘The Crown’ did it as well.”

“Our makeup designer did ‘The Crown’, so she was like — we were in competition with them and we totally won,” she added. “We went all out, the cast. Like, we had this group chat, going dressed up as celebrities, people from, you know, different characters in film.”

Elle and Dakota Fanning‘s new movie is being pushed back.

The upcoming World War II drama The Nightingale, which was due out at the end of 2020, will now be released on December 22, 2021 amid the global health crisis, Deadline reported on Thursday (April 30).

The real-life sisters will play on-screen sisters in the Melanie Laurent-directed story, which was adapted from the bestselling Kristin Hannah book.

Here’s a plot summary: “The Nightingale is set on the eve of World War II and follows the sisters’ struggle to survive and resist the German occupation of France. The story was inspired by the courageous women of the French Resistance who helped downed Allied airmen escape Nazi-occupied territory and hid Jewish children.”

Dakota and Elle Fanning‘s upcoming movie together, The Nightingale, has been pulled from the release schedule for 2020, The Wrap reports.

The movie starred the real life sisters and sisters on screen, and followed them as the come of age in France on the eve of World War II and their struggle to survive the German occupation of France.

Production on the flick started in March, but was quickly stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Elle and Dakota will resume filming the movie as soon as it is safe to do so.

The Nightingale was expected to hit theaters around Christmas 2020.

The Great is a satirical, comedic drama about the rise of Catherine the Great (Fanning) from outsider to the longest reigning female ruler in Russia’s history. Season One is a fictionalized, fun and anachronistic story of an idealistic, romantic young girl, who arrives in Russia for an arranged marriage to the mercurial Emperor Peter (Hoult). Hoping for love and sunshine, she finds instead a dangerous, depraved, backward world that she resolves to change. All she has to do is kill her husband, beat the church, baffle the military and get the court onside. A very modern story about the past which encompasses the many roles she played over her lifetime as lover, teacher, ruler, friend, and fighter.

Phoebe Fox, Adam Godley, Gwilym Lee, Charity Wakefield, Douglas Hodge, Sacha Dhawan, Sebastian de Souza, Bayo Gbadamosi and Belinda Bromilow also star.

The series is streaming on May 15.

While self-quarantining, the 21-year-old Maleficent actress took to her Instagram Story on Wednesday (March 25) to debut her newly dyed pink hair.

Elle snapped the pic while posing in front of her bathroom mirror as she showed off her damp, pink hair.

Elle didn’t add a caption to the post, so we’re not sure if she dyed her hair for a new role, or if she’s just trying out something new. Either way, we think it’s a cute look on her!

Elle Fanning has quite the reaction to seeing Nicholas Hoult‘s legs exposed in the hilarious new teaser for Hulu’s The Great.

The Great is a satirical, comedic drama about the rise of Catherine the Great (Fanning) from outsider to the longest reigning female ruler in Russia’s history.

Annette Bening and Elle Fanning have shared a rare moment together.

While making a joint appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday (March 10), the 61-year-old actress and 21-year-old actress reminisced about their longtime friendship.

Annette and Elle have starred together in 2013′s Ginger & Rosa, as well as 2016′s 20th Century Women.

Elle then revealed that her first kiss is actually forever documented in Ginger & Rosa: “I was 13. It was my first kiss total. Sally Potter who was the director, she had such a spidey sense,” she revealed. “I thought I was really fooling her to be like, you know, ‘oh yeah, I’ve kissed many men.’ I obviously wasn’t fooling her because years later she was like, ‘just so you know, I know it was your first kiss and because of that I used the very first take and that is in the movie.’ My first kiss on screen for eternity. I can watch my first kiss happen. It’s sweet, a bit embarrassing but sweet.”
