Hayley Atwell Films Intense Fight Scene with Esai Morales for 'Mission: Impossible 7'

The upcoming movie Mission: Impossible 7 is still being filmed all over Venice, Italy!

Hayley Atwell and Esai Morales were spotted shooting an intense fight scene on Monday night (November 9) while on top of a bridge over the canals.

At one point, Esai was seen grabbing Hayley by the neck. Her stunt double was also seen on set and because the photos aren’t super clear, it’s hard to tell them apart in the pics!

Nicholas Hoult was supposed to play the villain in the movie, but when filming was delayed due to the pandemic, he had to drop out of the role. Esai replaced him in the project, but not much is known about the character.

Hayley‘s character has been described as a “destructive force of nature” by director Christopher McQuarrie. He added, “There’s ambiguity…the interesting thing we’re exploring is her resistance to a situation she finds herself in. How she starts off, where she becomes. The journey of what she comes into and what is asked of her and potentially where she ends up.”

Ozark's Esai Morales to Replace Nicholas Hoult As 'Mission: Impossible' Villain - Find Out Why

Esai Morales, known for his work in Ozark and How to Get Away with Murder, is joining the cast of Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8, director Christopher McQuarrie revealed on his Instagram on Thursday (May 21).

However, Deadline is now reporting that Esai, 57, is actually replacing Nicholas Hoult in the movie in the villain role for the films.

The reason why Nicholas is being replaced? The Coronavirus pandemic has delayed production of tons of movies and television shows across the globe. As a result, the “delay put Hoult in conflict with another commitment.”

The film currently has a release date of July 23, 2021, but that could change as many films have had to alter release dates due to the global health crisis.

If you missed it, Nicholas just made a super rare comment about his two-year-old son.
