Finneas Reveals If He Plans On Proposing to Girlfriend Claudia Sulewski Sometime Soon

Are wedding bells in the future for Finneas and Claudia Sulewski?! Not so fast…

While promoting their new podcast We Bought a House with Claudia Sulewski and Finneas, the 22-year-old producer was asked if he plans on proposing to the 24-year-old YouTube personality anytime soon.

“Nope,” Finneas said with a laugh to Us Weekly. “Not yet.”

Finneas and Claudia started dating back in 2018 and have been enjoying taking their relationship day by day.

“I think moving together was such a fun and great step, and adopting a dog,” Claudia shared. “We’re so happy to be doing those things. I think right now we’re so grateful to be able to spend this time together, you know, in this period of unknown and uncertainty.”

“We’re on like the luckiest side of every person having to go through this same cultural experience right now,” Finneas added. “I think our focus during it has been like, in what ways can we help support organizations that are doing great things for people in need right now. That’s been like probably 50 percent of our attention, then the other 50 percent has just been kind of mental health.”

If you didn’t know, Finneas‘ sister Billie Eilish and their dad are launching a new Apple Music show!

New episodes of the We Bought a House with Claudia Sulewski and Finneas podcast are available on Mondays.

Ben Platt Releases New Song 'So Will I,' Produced By Finneas!

Ben Platt has dropped his new song “So Will I,” which was produced by fellow Grammy winner Finneas.

The song will be featured on the deluxe edition of Ben‘s album Sing to Me Instead, which is being released on May 20. The young singer’s concert special for Netflix is being released on the same day.

“I wrote this song at the start of quarantine. I had the idea for it while I was isolated and knew I wanted to write something that could speak to the moment and bring some comfort, but also a song that could have a life far beyond this time,” Ben said in a statement (via Rolling Stone).

He added, “When we finished and saw we had something very special, I brought it immediately to Finneas and asked if he might be willing to produce. I knew that not only would he have the musical fortitude to play all the instruments and produce the entire track on his own in isolation, but also that his emotional intelligence would be a perfect match for the song. He elevated it and lifted it without overpowering the lyric and the storytelling. He’s magic.”

You can download the song now on iTunes or stream it below via YouTube.

Finneas Reacts to People Asking About Who 'The Next Billie Eilish' Is

“Well, the only version of that question that I can get behind is who is the next person that will do exactly what they want and be deemed pop music? That verbiage I would understand, but to me it does a disservice to two things. It does a huge disservice to Billie, in that you could be a next Billie. It also does a huge disservice to anyone they claim Billie is the next version, you know what I mean? It does a huge disservice to Lorde. It does a huge disservice to Lana. And I think that to me it was like, it’s not cyclical in that way. Billie was nominated for album of the year, the same year Lana was. It’s not like you pass the torch and then you just retire,” he explained.

“I think the whole response to our art being so positive is that it rings true and it feels a unique thing and I feel that was the thing that we strive for in the beginning was to not conform to any preconceived notions of what we should be doing. And I think Lorde did the same thing. I think Lana has done the same thing. They’ve both been influences of ours, for sure. I also was like, ‘Isn’t she a little new…for there to be a next of any?’ Do you know what I mean? Imagine if somebody was like, “Who’s the next Timothée Chalamet?” It’s like he’s currently Timothée Chalamet.”

Finneas Defends Himself & Billie Eilish Against Claims of Nepotism & Privilege

Finneas O’Connell, the older brother of Billie Eilish, who has produced her music and won a collective 10 Grammys together, wrote a message on Twitter that sparked a debate about nepotism and privilege.

Over the weekend, Finneas wrote, “A piece of advice to young creatives. “Shooting your shot” is promoted widely and I think honestly, it’s a little overrated. Work super hard alone or with your closest friends. Make sh*t so good it speaks for itself. Don’t pester people to work with you, let them come to you.”

Some of the replies to that tweet include, “Spoken like someone born to two actors in LA. Here’s my piece of advice: check your privilege. Some of us have full time jobs, and are desperate to escape those conditions. My dad was a mechanic. I can’t even afford his funeral. I have $700 in my bank. So yeah, I’ll shoot my shot,” and “Easy to say when your sister IS Billie & your family supported your career. Not everyone has the luxury & (white) privilege to be so lucky.”
