Jared and Genevieve Padalecki are dishing on working together!

Earlier this week, the 38-year-old actor and 40-year-old actress appeared on The Talk where they chatted about working together on the new CW series Walker.

On the show Jared stars as Cordell Walker, while Genevieve has a recurring role as his character’s late wife, Emily.

“It’s been pretty magical,” Jared shared. “She kind of stepped aside from acting for 9 years to make sure that our kids didn’t parish, so thank God.”

Jared and Genevieve, who have been married since 2010, share three kids – sons Thomas, 9, and Austin, 7, and daughter Odette, 4.

While they’ve been working together, Jared revealed that he and Genevieve have been able to sneak in some dates away from their kids.

“During Covid times my kids cannot come to set…but I can have my wife there because she’s on the show as well. It’s date day!” Jared said. “I’ll admit there have been a few times where we’ve been on set and it will be 5pm and we’re both wrapped, [we say] let’s tell the babysitter we’re still filming and let’s go get some sushi.”

Genevieve and Jared have been married since 2010 and share three children together, Thomas, 8, Austin, 7, and Odette, 3. They previously worked together on the hit The CW series Supernatural, which ended last year after 15 seasons.

Genevieve Padalecki is opening up about playing the wife of her real-life husband, Jared Padalecki, on the small screen for Walker.

The 40-year-old actress plays Emily Walker, the title character’s deceased wife, who is at the center of the freshmen series’ plot.

“So when I first signed onto it, there was only the pilot that had been developed and the character, she had gone through a couple of different revisions and such to get where she is now,” Genevieve recalled to TheWrap in a new interview. “But there was definitely that like, ‘Where is this going to go? And how is it going to play out?’ [feeling].”

She adds that she’s one of the many wanting Emily to come back, because the way she leaves is “gut-wrenching”.

“Like, I want to continue working with [Jared] and I also don’t want to envision myself in this capacity. This is awful! So yeah, it’s definitely, like, you know, churned up different emotions for us, for sure, that we’ve sort of… like not want to talk about and that sort of thing. And there’s definitely a gravity to it. But at the same time, there is also a lot of play with it too and sort of letting go of the gravity and have fun creating it as well. I think there’s probably both sides to it. It just depends on the day, I guess.”

Genevieve does say that she quite likes playing Emily, who will be seen in multiple flashbacks throughout the season.

“I love the fact that right now I’ve created something from scratch and to be able to have fun with her and create a whole different relationship and marriage. And being a mother, it’s really fun,” she says. “…I think that playing Emily is certainly scary right now because we haven’t aired and it’s like, ‘Oh God, are people going to like this? I hope they enjoy it.’”

Genevieve Padalecki has joined her real life husband Jared Padalecki in The CW’s upcoming Walker series.

The -year-old actress is set to play Emily in the show, which is based on Walker, Texas Ranger, Deadline reports.

Emily is Walker’s strong, capable and generous late wife who is brave and focused on helping the disenfranchised.

Appearing in flashbacks, Emily is a grounded and authentic hero in the Walker family.

Walker centers on Cordell Walker (Jared), a widower and father of two with his own moral code, who returns home to Austin after being undercover for two years, only to discover there’s harder work to be done at home. He’ll attempt to reconnect with his children, navigate clashes with his conservative family, and find unexpected common ground with his new partner Micki (Lindsey Morgan), while growing increasingly suspicious about the circumstances surrounding his wife’s death.

The series is set and filmed in Austin, where the Padeleckis make their home with their three children, Thomas, Austin and Odette.
