Disney CEO Addresses Gina Carano's Firing from 'The Mandalorian'

The Walt Disney CEO is weighing in on Gina Carano‘s firing.

During a shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday (March 9), CEO Bob Chapek addressed the 38-year-old actress being fired from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian over her highly controversial social media post.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bob was asked by a caller during the Q&A portion of the meeting if Disney had a “black list” while insinuating that Gina was fired for her conservative politics.

Bob responded by saying that he does not see as “left-leaning or right-leaning” and that Disney stands “for values that are universal: Values of respect, values of decency, values of integrity and values of inclusion. And we seek to have the content that we make reflective of the rich diversity of the world we live in. And I think that’s a world we should all live in harmony and peace.”

Gina was first fired in February after she compared being a conservative in modern America to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

Shortly after her firing, Gina sat down for an interview about the situation where she accused Disney & Lucasfilm of bullying.

Gina Carano Accuses Disney & Lucasfilm of Bullying In Tell-All Interview Airing This Weekend

Gina Carano is about to sit down for a tell-all interview following her exit from the Star Wars franchise.

If you’re unfamiliar, the 38-year-old actress was let go from The Mandalorian after her comparison comments about being a conservative in modern America to being Jewish in Nazi Germany went viral. Gina says she found out that she was fired from social media.

She’ll be sitting down with The Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro, for a tell-all interview, according to Deadline. It will air on Sunday, February 21.

“I’ve been through so much, and I’ve seen so much now, clearly, of the bullying that’s been taking place, and I saw it before,” she says in the preview of the interview. “I’m not the only one that’s ever been bullied by this company, and I know that so deeply,” she will claim.

Gina added: “I could share a story which would turn things around in the media but I can’t because it would sell out a friend…Everyone is afraid of losing their job.”

Later on in the interview, Gina says that she “was prepared at any point to be let go, because I’ve seen this happen to so many people. I’ve seen the looks on their faces. I’ve seen the bullying that takes place, and so when this started, they point their guns at you, and you know it’s only a matter of time. I’ve seen it happen to so many people, and I just thought to myself (…) ‘you’re coming for me, I know you are.’ ” They’re making it very obvious through their employees who were coming for me, and so I was like, ‘I’m going to go down swinging and I’m going to stay true to myself.’”

If you didn’t see, Gina and Ben are working together on a movie, too.

Gina Carano Reveals She Found Out She Was Fired From 'The Mandalorian' on Social Media

Gina Carano just revealed that she learned she was fired from Disney+‘s The Mandalorian at the same time as everyone else – when the news broke and spread via social media.

If you missed the news, she was fired from the show last week after a social media post compared being a conservative in modern America to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

Carano gave statements to New York Times writer Bari Weiss, which were then posted on the writer’s Substack page.

“Earlier on last year before The Mandalorian came out, they wanted me to use their exact wording for an apology over pronoun usage. I declined and offered a statement in my own words. I made clear I wanted nothing to do with mocking the transgender community, and was just drawing attention to the abuse of the mob in forcing people to put pronouns in their bio,” Gina said in a statement.

She continued, adding that Disney then said she would be excluded from all press for season two. “That was heart-breaking, but I didn’t want to take away from the hard work of everyone who worked on the project, so I said ok. That was the last time I was contacted about any type of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm. I found out through social media, like everyone else, that I had been fired.”

Gina Carano Breaks Silence After Firing from Lucasfilm, Announces New Movie Project

Gina Carano has released a statement after she was fired from the Star Wars series The Mandalorian.

The 38-year-old actress, who played Cara Dune on the Disney+ series, was let go by Lucasfilm because of her controversial social media posts. In one of the posts, she compared the treatment of conservatives in the United States to how Jewish people were treated in Germany during the Nazi era.

Now, Gina plans on working with the conservative website The Daily Wire to make a new movie.

“The Daily Wire is helping make one of my dreams — to develop and produce my own film — come true. I cried out and my prayer was answered,” Gina told Deadline. “I am sending out a direct message of hope to everyone living in fear of cancellation by the totalitarian mob. I have only just begun using my voice which is now freer than ever before, and I hope it inspires others to do the same. They can’t cancel us if we don’t let them.”

Gina will be developing, producing, and starring in the movie, which will be an exclusive Daily Wire release. The site’s Ben Shapiro said, “We could not be more excited to be working with Gina Carano, an incredible talent dumped by Disney and Lucasfilm for offending the authoritarian Hollywood Left. This is what Daily Wire exists to do: provide an alternative not just for consumers, but for creators who refuse to bow to the mob. We’re eager to bring Gina’s talent to Americans who love her, and we’re just as eager to show Hollywood that if they want to keep cancelling those who think differently, they’ll just be helping us build the Xwing to take down their Death Star.”

Disney+ Had Plans for Gina Carano 'Mandalorian' Spinoff, Scrapped Plans After November 2020 Tweets (Report)

Gina Carano was fired from Disney+‘s The Mandalorian this week after a social media post compared being a conservative in modern America to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

But, according to a source who spoke with THR, they have wanted to fire her for two months after two specific tweets she sent out in November of 2020.

“They have been looking for a reason to fire her for two months, and today was the final straw,” a source with knowledge of the situation told THR.

First, after the 2020 Election, Gina tweeted about believing there was voter fraud in the election of President Joe Biden, which has been repeatedly debunked. She also tweeted an anti-mask sentiment in November of 2020. Masks are being used amid the Coronavirus pandemic to slow the spread and keep everyone as safe as possible amid a deadly virus.

THR added that Disney+ had actually planned to have her star in a spinoff series, portraying her fan favorite character, former Rebel Alliance soldier Cara Dune. The intention was to announce this spinoff in December of 2020, but plans were scrapped after she sent out those tweets weeks earlier.
