Ewan McGregor Confirms Obi-Wan TV Series at D23 Event!

Ewan McGregor hits the stage for a big announcement at Disney’s D23 Expo on Friday (August 23) at Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, Calif.

The 48-year-old actor was joined by Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy to officially announce that an Obi-Wan Kenobi series will be coming to Disney Plus and it will start filming in 2020.

There are several Star Wars series on the way for the new streaming service.

The first trailer for The Mandalorian was premiered at the event and the series’ stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers, Giancarlo Esposito, and Taika Waititi were all there to introduce it. The series will launch on November 12 when the streaming service launches.

Pedro Pascal and Alan Tudyk were also on hand to talk about their upcoming series in which they’ll reprise their roles from Rogue One.

Writer and executive producer Jon Favreau, director and executive producer Dave Filoni and executive producer Kathleen Kennedy teased an early look at the forthcoming first-ever live action Star Wars series on Sunday (April 14) at Star Wars Celebration in Chicago, Ill.

The three hosted a panel discussion about the upcoming Disney+ series, and were joined by stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano and Carl Weathers.

The series follows the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy, far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian is set to premiere on Disney+ on November 12.

Gina Carano has joined the cast of the upcoming Star Wars series The Mandalorian!

The 36-year-old Deadpool actress and former MMA fighter is in final negotiations to star in the Disney+ streaming service’s new series, Deadline reports.

The Mandalorian, executive produced by Jon Favreau and Lucasfilm, “chronicles the lone-wolf odyssey of a character who hails from the planet Mandalore,” aka “the home world of the notorious bounty hunter Boba Fett and Jango Fett.”

Gina‘s role is not yet known.

Jon has said that the series will take place “after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It will follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.”

The first episode will be directed by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars). Taika Waititi, Rick Famuyiwa, Deborah Chow, and Bryce Dallas Howard will also direct.

The movie is set to become a major blockbuster success and it broke the Thursday night preview record for an R-rated movie with $12.7 million. It was also the biggest preview total for a movie released in February, according to Deadline.

Deadpool follows a former Special Forces operative turned mercenary (Reynolds) who is subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopting the alter ego Deadpool. Also starring in the film are Ed Skrein, Morena Baccarin, TJ Miller, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand.

'Deadpool' Trailer Starring Ryan Reynolds - WATCH NOW!

Ryan Reynolds gets to action in the just-released official trailer for his upcoming movie Deadpool.

The film is based on the Marvel Comics’ anti-hero and tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds), who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Also starring in the movie are Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, TJ Miller, and Brianna Hildebrand. It is set to be released in theaters everywhere on February 12, 2016.

Ryan Reynolds & Gina Carano Bring 'Deadpool' to Comic-Con

Ryan Reynolds and Gina Carano round up the cast of Deadpool for a photo during 2015 Comic-Con on Saturday (July 11) in San Diego, Calif.

During the 20th Century Fox panel, Ryan, Gina, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, Morena Baccarin, Brianna Hildebr and director Tim Miller took to the stage to give fans an inside look at the upcoming film.

“It’s everything we loved about the comics: a guy obviously that’s going to break the fourth wall and the most faithful adaptation of comic to film we’ve ever see,” Ryan told the audience.

“I think this character inhabits a space in the comics universe no character could. It’s a miracle the studio is letting us make Deadpool, let alone a rated-R Deadpool,” he continued.

TJ put it best when he simply told the audience, “You’re gonna f**king love this movie.”

Later in the panel, the cast debuted the first trailer for the upcoming film. Reporters in the audience say it was hilarious and that the crowd demanded for it to be played twice.

Ryan Reynolds gets into character while filming a scene for his upcoming movie Deadpool in a dirty alley behind a strip club in the early morning hours of Thursday (April 2) in Vancouver, Canada.

The 38-year-old actor will be reprising his role from the movie Wolverine in a new adventure based on the character. He was joined on set by co-stars Gina Carano, Ed Skrein, and Morena Baccarin.
