The stars of Pose step out for the 2019 Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter’s Pride Summit on Thursday night (August 8) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Cast members in attendance included Angel Bismark Curiel, Hailie Sahar, MJ Rodriguez, Dyllon Burnside, Indya Moore as they promoted their hit FX series at the event.

While they were there, the cast shared that issues like colorism, transphobia and more have been passed down from previous generations in roles in Hollywood.

They also called out white cis actors who take on roles of transgender people, saying that those roles should be given to the people that are “living those experiences.”

“Why would you play a role you don’t care about?” Indya brought up via THR. “Or do you just want to expand and stretch and show people you can act?”

The stars also talked about having HIV story lines on their show, saying that they hope they can start a broader conversation about the disease.

“If we can take that and harness that power to encourage more conversations amongst families and amongst schools and amongst churches about dealing with this problem in the black community and queer community,” Dyllon shared. “I think that’s really what works.”

Billy Porter serves up a bullfighting-inspired look on the carpet while attending the season two premiere of his hit FX series Pose held on Wednesday (June 5) in New York City.

The 49-year-old actor was joined at the event by series producer-director Janet Mock, as well as co-stars Indya Moore, Angelica Ross, MJ Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Bianca Castro, Alexia Garcia, Jeremy McClain, Dyllon Burnside, Hailie Sahar, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Sandra Bernhard, Angel Bismark Curiel and writer Our Lady J.

Also in attendance to show their support were Billy‘s husband Adam Smith, Pose season one star Johnny Sibilly, Adina Porter, Raymond Braun, Andy Mientus, Damaris Lewis and Peppermint.

Billy Porter and his Pose castmates accept the Champion Award at the 2019 GLSEN Respect Awards!

The 49-year-old performer and his co-stars teamed up for the event held at Cipriani 42nd on Monday (May 20) in New York City.

Billy was joined by MJ Rodriguez and Dominique Jackson.

Also in attendance were their other co-stars Dyllon Burnside, Angel Bismark Curiel, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Our Lady J, and writer and co-executive producer Steven Canals.

The event was hosted by Star Trek: Discovery‘s Wilson Cruz. The View‘s Rosie Perez and was also there to show her support.

The GLSEN Respect Awards were introduced in 2004 by GLSEN, the leading education organization working to create safe and inclusive K-12 schools for LGBTQ youth. Held annually in Los Angeles and New York, the award show honors the work of student leaders, educators, community organizers, influencers, and corporations who serve as exemplary role models and have made a significant impact on the lives of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth.

Billy Porter and MJ Rodriguez step out on the red carpet at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards on Saturday night (May 4) at the Hilton Midtown in New York City.

The Pose actors were joined by their co-stars Indya Moore, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Angelica Ross, Angel Bismark Curiel, Dyllon Burnside, and Hailie Sahar, as well as producers Janet Mock and Our Lady J.

Billy was joined on the carpet by his husband Adam Smith.

Pose won the award for Outstanding Drama Series at the event, beating out Billions, Black Lightning, Grey’s Anatomy, The Handmaid’s Tale, Instinct, Shadowhunters, Star, Supergirl, and Wynonna Earp.

Emma Roberts is red hot as she strikes a pose at Trevor Project’s TrevorLIVE LA Gala 2018 held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on Sunday (December 2) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 27-year-old American Horror Story star was joined at the event by Cobie Smulders and her husband Taran Killam, James Van Der Beek, Daniel Levy, Amandla Stenberg, AJ Michalka, Jussie Smollett, Brad Goreski, Nico Santos and his boyfriend Zeke Smith, Lauren Ash, Janet Mock, Kyle Krieger and Raymond Braun.

TrevorLIVE LA is the organization’s annual star-studded signature fundraiser.
