Ice Cube Clarifies Why He's Working With Trump Administration on The Platinum Plan

Ice Cube is defending his choice to work with the Trump Administration on The Platinum Plan.

Earlier today, his role was revealed when a White House advisor thanked the rapper for working with President Donald Trump.

“Shoutout to @icecube for his willingness to step up and work with @realDonaldTrump Administration to help develop the #PlatinumPlan,” the advisor tweeted. “Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading! ✊🏾”

After criticism from his fans on social media, Ice Cube addressed what was happening.

Via Rolling Stone, Ice Cube‘s rep shared that he wanted to meet with both the Trump and Biden campaigns to discuss an “agenda for black Americans” and support for his Contract With Black America (CWBA), which “strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice.”

“The problems facing America are too deep and wide to simply reform one area or another,” the contract said. “Long-lasting solutions demand a comprehensive thorough ‘rethink’ of America so that each new approach in each area supports the success of the others. This Contract with Black America will provide conceptual approaches in several areas.”

The contract also details 13 different areas of improvement, including bank lending, prison reform, police reform and the elimination of all confederate monuments.

After making contact with both campaigns, Ice Cube shared that Biden‘s campaign wanted to touch base after Election Day about the CWBA, while Trump‘s campaign reached out to him and included some of the CWBA into the White House’s Platinum Plan.

The Platinum Plan promises to “increase access to capital in black communities by almost $500 billion” by creating 500,000 black-owned businesses and 3 million new jobs for the black community, as well as “access to better education and job training.”

It also pledges to strengthen Trump’s immigration and policing policies in order to protect jobs and communities.

Ice Cube Responds to Criticism Over Anti-Semitic Images

Ice Cube is under fire for sharing images that have anti-semetic undertones and fans have been calling him out.

“This is his second antisemitic post in a week. Conspiracy theories of Jewish global domination are textbook antisemitism,” BET News host Marc Lamont Hill tweeted at Ice Cube after he posted the images in question.

“What if I was just pro-Black? This is the truth brother. I didn’t lie on anyone. I didn’t say I was anti anybody. DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE. I’ve been telling my truth,” he responded.
