The 48-year-old actor posted a statement to social media on Sunday (July 18) regarding verification of identity online.

The debut teaser trailer for Netflix‘s star-studded film The Harder They Fall is finally here!
Here’s a synopsis: When outlaw Nat Love (Jonathan Majors) discovers that his enemy Rufus Buck (Idris Elba) is being released from prison he rounds up his gang to track Rufus down and seek revenge. Those riding with him in this assured, righteously new school Western include his former love Stagecoach Mary (Zazie Beetz), his right and left hand men — hot-tempered Bill Pickett (Edi Gathegi) and fast drawing Jim Beckwourth (R.J. Cyler)—and a surprising adversary-turned-ally. Rufus Buck has his own fearsome crew, including “Treacherous” Trudy Smith (Regina King) and Cherokee Bill (LaKeith Stanfield), and they are not a group that knows how to lose. The film is directed by Jeymes Samuel and written by Samuel and Boaz Yakin.
The film does not have a release date just yet but is expected sometime this year.

Netflix has a brand new movie out today called Concrete Cowboy.
In it, Idris Elba and Caleb McLaughlin star as father and estranged son, whose bond is strengthened by being part of an urban riding club based out of Philadelphia.
The movie also shows that the son finds out that the city is planning to close the stables.
But is the club and land actually real? Are there real Black Americans riding on horseback in Philadelphia?

Idris Elba has probably been waiting for this question and he finally had to face it.
The 48-year-old actor was asked about his thoughts on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s recent interview with Oprah Winfrey during an appearance on The Today Show on Friday morning (April 2).
For those that don’t know, Idris was the DJ at Meghan and Harry‘s wedding reception. Also, he is good friends with Oprah!
Today‘s Hoda Kotb asked Idris if he had been in touch with the royal couple after the interview.
