Shirtless Jake Johnson Attempts To Fulfill His Mother's To-Do List In First Trailer For 'Ride The Eagle'

Jake Johnson shows off his physique while attempting to fish with his bare hands in the first trailer for his new movie, Ride The Eagle.

Here’s a summary of the movie: When Leif’s estranged mother Honey dies she leaves him a ‘conditional inheritance’.

But, before he can move into her picturesque Yosemite cabin, he has to complete her elaborate, and sometimes dubious, to-do list.

Leif and Nora, his canine BFF, step into Honey’s wild world as she tries to make amends from beyond the grave in this hilarious and heartfelt comedy.

Jake stars alongside Susan Sarandon as Honey, D’Arcy Carden as Audrey and J.K. Simmons as Carl in the flick.

Written and also produced by Jake, Ride The Eagle will be out in theaters and on digital on July 30.

HBO Max Orders 1970s Adult Magazine Series 'Minx' With Jake Johnson & Ophelia Lovibond

Jake Johnson has signed on to star opposite Ophelia Lovibond in Minx on HBO Max.

The 1970s set drama will center around an earnest young feminist (Lovibond) who joins forces with a low-rent publisher (Johnson) to create the first erotic magazine for women.

The two will be joined on the series by Idara Victor, Jessica Lowe, Lennon Parham, Michael Angarano, and Oscar Montoya, Variety reports.

The half-hour comedy series will consist of 10 episodes, helmed by Ellen Rapoport and executive produced by Paul Feig and Dan Magnante.

Ellen shared in a statement about the series moving forward, “I’m so grateful to Feigco, Lionsgate and HBO Max for seeing the potential in this story from the first time I showed up in their offices with stacks of 70s porn magazines.”

She added, “Making Minx with our ridiculously talented cast was a dream come true and I’m just thrilled that I get to do it again.”

There is no release date for Minx just yet. Stay tuned for details!

The New Girl gang is back together!

Zoe Lister Jones, Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson, and Lamorne Morris reprised their roles as Fawn Moscato, Jess Day, and Winston Bishop, respectively, for a video shared on Instagram on Tuesday (October 20) to encourage fans to get out and vote.

In the video, Nick tries to fill out his ballot with a red pen, while Jess tells him he needs to use a blue or black pen in order for it to be official. Winston is working on perfecting the heart in his official signature. He and Nick then high-five over voting by mail.

Zoe joined New Girl in season four as a local politician.

Missing from the reunion was Max Greenfield and Hannah Simone.

Over the past few weeks, tons of other celebs have been encouraging fans to get out and vote.

'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' Star Jake Johnson Will Record Messages To Kids Who Are Quarantined at Home

Jake Johnson is taking a little note from Josh Gad and other celebrities in reading to fans during the quarantine state we’re currently in due to coronavirus.

The actor, who voices Peter B. Parker in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, took to Instagram to offer up his services to parents with young kids.

“Since the quarantine a lot of parents have DM’d me saying they’ve been watching Spiderverse with their kids. A lot,” Jake wrote on Instagram.

Jake adds his idea: “If your child is home from school and wants a quick encouraging message from Peter B Peter, then send me an email with their name and I’ll try and send over a short voice note. If I don’t get to you, I apologize. #stayhome. Email here if you wanna try this: [email protected].”

Cobie Smulders & Jake Johnson Join 'Stumptown' Cast at TCA Summer Press Tour

Cobie Smulders and Jake Johnson step out in style while repping their new show Stumptown at ABC’s 2019 TCA Summer Press Tour!

The 37-year-old Avengers: Endgame actress and the 41-year-old New Girl actor hit the carpet at the event held on Monday (August 5) in West Hollywood, Calif.

They were joined by their co-stars Cole Sibus, Camryn Manheim, Michael Ealy, Tantoo Cardinal, and Adrian Martinez.

The cast and producers also addressed the press on stage at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills.

Here’s the synopsis for the drama series: “Based on the graphic novel series, Stumptown follows Dex Parios (Smulders) – a strong, assertive and sharp-witted army veteran with a complicated love life, gambling debt and a brother to take care of in Portland, Oregon. Her military intelligence skills make her a great PI, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and not quite in alliance with the police.”

Cobie called Dex a character that “you can never be bored with,” adding that she is “challenging and fun to play.” (via Deadline)

The EP also includes Chris‘s take on “Up on the House Top” and Jorma Taconne‘s “The Night Before Christmas 1967 (Spoken Word).”

Jake Johnson and Shameik Moore hit the red carpet with their co-stars while attending the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse AR Experience Launch Celebration held on Tuesday (December 11) in New York City.

The guys were joined by their cast mates Luna Lauren Velez and Kathryn Hahn as they celebrated the a exclusive immersive experience, where visitors can immerse themselves in a spiderweb installation, taking on the web-spinning abilities of Spider-Man through a mobile browser-based experience, can fire virtual webs and earn chances to win cash.

In the animated film, Miles Morales (Shameik) becomes the Spider-Man of his reality and crosses paths with his counterparts from other dimensions to stop a threat to all reality.
