Stars Who Regret Their Roles in Movies & TV

Not every actor likes to see themselves on the big screen – but some don’t even like to remember that they participated in a production altogether.

Over the years, many different stars have revealed in various magazine interviews and through assorted podcast and TV appearances that they don’t always love the movie and TV roles they took on in the past…even if the roles might be some of their most iconic and memorable works to date.

Sometimes, the stars have doubts about their performance. Or, they had poor experiences with their co-stars or directors. And in other cases, they just decided that the script wasn’t all that good looking back. In any case, they’ve all since come out and said they don’t necessarily love their appearances in certain films and TV shows.

Charlyne Yi Says She Tried to Quit 'The Disaster Artist,' Accuses James Franco of Preying on Children

Charlyne Yi is speaking out against James Franco and Seth Rogen in a new post about how she tried to quit the movie The Disaster Artist.

The 35-year-old actress got her big break in Seth‘s 2007 movie Knocked Up and he was one of the producers on The Disaster Artist, in which she played the role Safoya.

In an Instagram post on Thursday (April 8), Charlyne accused James of being a sexual predator with a “long history of preying on children.” She also accused Seth of being one of his enablers.

“When I tried to break legal contract & quit Disaster Artist because James Franco is a sexual predator, they tried to bribe me with a bigger acting role. I cried and told them that that was the exact opposite of what I wanted, that I didn’t feel safe working with a f–king sexual predator,” Charlyne wrote in her post. “They minimized & said Franco being a predator was so last year and that he changed… when I literally heard of him abusing new women that week.”

James Franco Settles Sexual Misconduct Lawsuit

James Franco is settling.

A settlement deal has been reached in a 2019 lawsuit alleging that the 42-year-old actor intimidated his students into sexual situations at the acting school he founded, according to Variety on Sunday (February 21).

In a joint status report, two of the actor’s former students at his Studio 4 school, which is no longer running, agreed to drop their claims. The sexual exploitation claims are being dismissed without prejudice, meaning they can be re-filed. Fraud allegations included in the suit will be subject to limited release.

It is not known how much money was involved in the settlement deal.

In the class-action suit, the former students claimed that James forced his students to perform explicit sex scenes on camera in an “orgy-type setting” during a master class, and that he allegedly led students to believe that roles in his films would become available to them if they followed along.

His attorneys responded to the claims in a previous filing, calling them “false and inflammatory, legally baseless and brought as a class action with the obvious goal of grabbing as much publicity as possible for attention-hungry Plaintiffs.”

The deal will be submitted for preliminary court approval by March 15, according to the report. Click here to see the full agreement.
