'Hacks' Creators Talk Season 2 Plans After That Finale Cliffhanger (Spoilers)

HBO Max just debuted the final two episodes of Hacks‘ first season and the finale ended with quite a big cliffhanger.

The creators of the show – Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs, and Jen Statsky – have given some interviews to talk about the finale and tease details of the upcoming second season.

Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder will be reprising their roles as Deborah Vance and Ava in the recently ordered season two.

HBO Max Renews 'Hacks' for Season 2, Jean Smart Releases Funniest Statement

HBO Max has announced that the acclaimed new series Hacks has been renewed for a second season!

The comedy series explores a dark mentorship that forms between Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), a legendary Las Vegas comedian, and an entitled, outcast 25-year-old (Hannah Einbinder).

The streaming service has been rolling out the series over the last few weeks and it has been “consistently ranking in the top ten most viewed titles out of all available content.”

Jean Smart's Husband Richard Gilliland Dies at 71 After 'Brief Illness'

Richard Gilliland has sadly passed away.

The actor, who was married to Jean Smart, died at the age of 71-years-old back on Thursday, March 18 in Los Angeles following a brief illness, his family confirmed in a statement to USA Today on Thursday (March 25).

As of right now, no other details have been released.

Richard is best known for his role on the ’80s sitcom Designing Women, where he played baseball talent scout J.D. Shackelford, the boyfriend of Annie Potts‘ character Mary Jo Shively.

While appearing on Designing Women, Richard met his future wife Jean, who played Charlene Frazier-Stillfield.

Richard and Jean married in 1987 and share two kids, Connor and Bonnie.

Shortly after news of Richard‘s death broke, Annie took to Instagram to remember her late co-star.

“Sweet Richard. You are missed already. Please say hello to Dixie and Hal, Meschach and Alice. Table read Monday. 😘😘 Love, Annie,” Annie wrote along with a photo of herself with Richard and Jean.

Our thoughts are with Richard‘s family during this difficult time.

We’re mourning the losses of so many stars this year.

Billy Crudup & Jean Smart Win Supporting Acting Awards at Critics’ Choice Awards 2020

Billy Crudup and Jean Smart appear on stage to accept their awards at the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday (January 12) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.

The two actors won the awards for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for their work in The Morning Show and Watchmen, respectively.

The show decided to announce the two awards at the same time and they went up on stage together. Jean accept her award first and then Billy moved to the microphone and accepted his award.

Regina King Joins 'Watchmen' Cast at Premiere Celebration!

Regina King is gorgeous in a gown while hitting the carpet at the premiere of her anticipated series Watchmen held at The Cinerama Dome on Monday (October 14) in Los Angeles.

The 48-year-old Oscar-winner was joined at the event by her co-stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Hong Chau, Tim Blake Nelson, Don Johnson, James Wolk, Dustin Ingram, Jean Smart, Andrew Howard and Tom Mison, as well as director Nicole Kassell and creator Damon Lindelof.

The upcoming television series is an adaptation of the beloved comic books, which served as the basis for a 2009 movie directed by Zack Snyder.

Set in an alternate history where masked vigilantes are treated as outlaws, Watchmen embraces the nostalgia of the original groundbreaking graphic novel of the same name while attempting to break new ground of its own.
