Jeff Bridges Shares Cancer Battle Update, Says Tumor Has 'Drastically Shrunk'

Jeff Bridges is sharing a positive update amid his cancer battle!

The 71-year-old Oscar shared an update with fans regarding his lymphoma diagnosis, revealing that his tumor has “drastically shrunk” amid ongoing treatment.

“January 6th I go in for CAT scan to see if my new protocol is shrinking my tumor. Turns out it’s working beautifully,” Jeff wrote on his website. “The thing has drastically shrunk. I come home elated with the news.”

The same day Jeff received his good news was the same day Trump supporters stormed the Capitol building in Washington, DC.

“I turn on the TV to find out what’s going in the world, and….well…I don’t have to you what’s goin’ on,” Jeff continued. “To see our country attacking itself broke my heart. A question rose in me – what’s an individual to do in a situation like this? My mentor, Rozzell Sykes, came to mind. His manta was Be Love.”

Jeff first announced that he had been diagnosed with lymphoma back in October. Since then, Jeff has provided his fans with updates throughout his battle, including shaving off all his hair and adopting a new puppy last month.

Jeff Bridges is updating his fans on how things are going in his life after he revealed his cancer diagnosis just a few months ago.

The 71-year-old Big Lebowski actor shared a framed photo of him sitting on his porch with his new hairstyle that might shock some fans.

As he goes through treatments for Lymphoma, Jeff revealed that he shaved off all his hair.

“Here’s the latest,” he wrote on fans on Twitter. “Feeling good. Shaved my head.”

Jeff also revealed that he got a new puppy, which sits in his lap in the photo, and named him Monty, and also noted that he celebrated his 71st birthday about a week ago.

In October, Jeff revealed his diagnosis and opened up to fans about his health in a subsequent update.

“This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time,” Jeff shared. “I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus.”

Jeff Bridges Provides Health Update After Cancer Reveal, Shares Photo Undergoing Treatment

Jeff Bridges is staying positive amid his cancer diagnosis.

After revealing that he was diagnosed with Lymphoma earlier this week, the 70-year-old Oscar winner took to his Twitter on Thursday (October 29) to thank fans for the support.

“I want to thank you all for reaching out during this time, it feels good getting all the well wishes and love!” Jeff tweeted along with a photo of himself at the hospital undergoing treatment.

He also shared a lengthy statement on his health on his website.

“This cancer thing is bringing on feelings of preciousness, and gratitude, and good old fashion love, and lots of it, big time,” Jeff wrote. “I’m feeling so much of it comin’ my way, and man, I appreciate it. It’s contagious, all this love, like some kind of positive virus.”

“I want to acknowledge and thank you guys for reaching out during this time,” Jeff added. “It feels good, getting all the well wishes and love.”

Jeff continued by saying that “this cancer is making me appreciate my mortality, appreciate impermanence.”

“I’m realizing if I have –t to share, now’s the time,” Jeff wrote, while adding doodles and links to some his past performances on YouTube.

Jeff Bridges got candid with his fans on social media on Monday (October 19), revealing he is starting treatment for his cancer diagnosis.

The 70-year-old Big Lebowski actor took to Twitter to keep fans in the loop about what was happening.

“As the Dude would say.. New S**T has come to light,” Jeff started. “I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.”

He added that he’s “starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.”

Jeff also took the time to remind his fans to vote in the upcoming election, too.

John Lithgow Joins Jeff Bridges in FX Pilot 'Old Man'

John Lithgow has joined the cast of the upcoming FX drama pilot Old Man, which will also star Jeff Bridges.

Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home director Jon Watts will be directing the pilot and executive producing the series, if it gets picked up.

Variety reports that the series “centers on Dan Chase (Bridges), who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.”

John will play Harold Harper, who is “described as intelligent and tough with deep reservoirs of compassion and ruthlessness. Harper is called back to service by the FBI after suffering a terrible personal loss. He has a complicated past with rogue fugitive Chase, which makes him uniquely suited for hunting him down.”

The 69-year-old True Grit actor will star in the upcoming show The Old Man on FX, Variety reports.

This marks the first starring television role for Jeff.

Based on the bestselling novel of the same name by Thomas Perry, The Old Man tells the story of “Dan Chase (Bridges), who absconded from the CIA decades ago and has been living off the grid since. When an assassin arrives and tries to take Chase out, the old operative learns that to ensure his future he now must reconcile his past.”

Jeff is also an executive producer on the series, which is set to begin production this fall.
