Jessica Simpson is sharing some new info about her dating life that fans probably don’t know already!
The 40-year-old entrepreneur and entertainer made an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show this week and talked about what it was like to date after her divorce from Nick Lachey.
“I felt like anytime it started to get a little bit serious, I was the person to run from because every guy would be listening to their publicist who would be like, ‘stay away, stay away. You’ll never be a respected actor, you’ll never be a respected musician if you are dating her.’ That was back then. At least, that was the excuse I heard,” Jessica said.
Jessica also talked about how she dated more celebs than fans realize, but she isn’t going to drop the names.
“Well, I have dated some — a couple musicians, so,” Jessica said. “Some under the radar that people don’t know about.”
Jessica said that she’s going to call up Drew and give her the dirt over the phone!
In a recent interview, Jessica talked about her former relationship with a celeb we do know she dated.
Jessica Simpson was one of the celebrities who had coronavirus over the past year.
The 40-year-old singer has been promoting her new essay, “Take The Lead”, and revealed in one essay that she had tested positive for COVID-19.
“This past year has been especially intense for me and so many of you. I started writing this essay on the same day I received a positive test result for COVID-19,” Jessica shared in her caption on Instagram.
Jessica did not go into details about her bought with the virus, but shared that “instead of being driven by fear, I would manifest a hopeful conversation with you.”
“I felt strong, resilient, and God- inspired through my pen teaching me as I was sharing with you ways to get to the other side of fear.”
Jessica‘s essay, which is part of Amazon’s Original Stories series, will be available on April 29.

In another excerpt from the essay, Jessica opened up about constantly being judged by her weight.
Jessica Simpson is looking back at her relationship with John Mayer.
In an interview on Tamron Hall‘s talk show airing on Friday (March 26), the 40-year-old singer and fashion designer was asked if she included details about her toxic relationship with the 43-year-old musician in her memoir Open Book because she wants an apology from him.
“No, I definitely don’t feel that I am owed a public apology,” Jessica said. “I mean, you can’t take it back. And I’m a very forgiving person but I’m also honest. So, in the memoir, if I’m gonna talk about stuff that caused me pain, I’m going to be honest about it. And that was a time in my life that I was very manipulated and also in love, or seemingly.”
In her memoir, Jessica opened up about her 2006 relationship with John, saying that he once told her he was “obsessed with me, sexually and emotionally.” She also shared her thoughts on him publicly saying that she was like “sexual napalm.”
Jessica also pointed out to Tamron that John “might not be sorry” for their relationship, and that’s fine with her.
“We were kinda like on-off, on-off at that time,” Jessica said. “But to talk about anybody sexually is kind of disrespectful, but that’s on him.”
After Jessica released her memoir last year, John revealed if he had read it.
Jessica Simpson is reflecting on the barrage of headlines she received over her weight over the years.
The 40-year-old entertainer shared journal entries she wrote from over a decade ago.
“Today my heart breaks because people says I’m fat,” she wrote in 2009. “Why does the cruel opinion of this world get to me?” she continued in her diary. “Last week I read back to my journals from 1999 and I beat myself up about how fat I [was] before I even gave the world a chance to…”
Today, Jessica released a statement to People.
“There is a wonderful movement for body positivity now and the response to that portion of my story has been overwhelmingly supportive,” she said. “I don’t think people always realized that there was a human being, a beating heart and working eyes with actual feelings behind those headlines and that words can hurt and stay with you for a lifetime.”
