Netflix‘s brand new limited series Hollywood has its debut trailer!

The new series is from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan. Here’s a synopsis: Hollywood follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. Each character offers a unique glimpse behind the gilded curtain of Hollywood’s Golden Age, spotlighting the unfair systems and biases across race, gender and sexuality that continue to this day. Provocative and incisive, HOLLYWOOD exposes and examines decades-old power dynamics, and what the entertainment landscape might look like if they had been dismantled.

The limited series, which consists of seven episodes on the streaming service, stars series regulars David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope, Samara Weaving, Laura Harrier, Jim Parsons, Dylan McDermott, Holland Taylor, Patti LuPone, Jake Picking and Joe Mantello, with notable guest stars Maude Apatow, Mira Sorvino and Rob Reiner.

Ryan Murphy‘s new show is coming soon!

Hollywood is set to launch on Netflix on May 1, it was announced on Thursday (February 20).

The limited series, which consists of seven episodes on the streaming service, stars series regulars David Corenswet, Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope, Samara Weaving, Laura Harrier, Jim Parsons, Dylan McDermott, Holland Taylor, Patti LuPone, Jake Picking and Joe Mantello, with notable guest stars Maude Apatow, Mira Sorvino and Rob Reiner.

Here’s a synopsis: “Hollywood follows a group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood as they try to make it in Tinseltown — no matter the cost. Jim Parsons & Dylan McDermott Join the Cast of Ryan Murphy's 'Hollywood'

Jim Parsons and Dylan McDermott are signing on for Hollywood!

The two actors were among several names announced as the latest additions to Ryan Murphy‘s upcoming Netflix series on Friday (September 27).

Samara Weaving, Maude Apatow, Joe Mantello, Laura Harrier and Jake Picking are also joining the cast, which includes the previously announced stars Darren Criss, Jeremy Pope and David Corenswet.

The show is described as “a love letter to the Golden Age of Tinseltown.” It will be set in the 1940s, and is set to debut sometime in May 2020. There are no specific plot details just yet.

Lucas Hedges is all smiles as he poses with his family while attending the Roadside Attractions and The Cinema Society special screening of his film Ben Is Back held at The Whitby Hotel on Monday evening (November 26) in New York City.

The 21-year-old actor and and his family – mother Susan, father Peter and brother Simon – were joined at the event by their co-star Rachel Bay Jones.

Also in attendance to show their support was Mary-Louise Parker and her son Will, Carol Kane, Ben Platt, two-time Tony winner Joe Mantello, Dylan Baker and his wife Becky Ann Baker, Ari’el Stachel, Willa Fitzgerald and Charlie Carver.

Sally Field Celebrates Opening Night Of 'The Glass Menagerie' with Finn Wittrock!

Sally Field is back on Broadway in the revival of Tennessee WilliamsThe Glass Menagerie!

With direction by Tony winner Sam Gold, the 70-year-old actress joins two-time Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, Finn Wittrock and Madison Ferris in the limited run scheduled through July 2.

“It’s an extraordinary piece of writing,” Sally told Vogue while attending the opening night party for The Glass Menagerie at Sardi’s Theatre district eatery on Thursday (March 9) in New York City. “It is one of the great American plays.”

“I thought I would never have the opportunity to bring it to New York,” Sally continued. “And then [director] Sam Gold did it in Amsterdam and wanted to bring it here, and really it was Scott Rudin putting the pieces together because Scott knew how much I wanted to do it and felt I would never have the opportunity, and he really is the magician behind it. This really wouldn’t have been done if Sam Gold hadn’t wanted to do it.”
