Joel Edgerton is enjoying an afternoon of surfing!

The 46-year-old Zero Dark Thirty and Red Sparrow actor spent the afternoon catching a few waves on Wednesday (February 3) in Sydney, Australia.

After a few hours of surfing, Joel showed off his fit, shirtless bod as he changed out of his wetsuit and continued on with his day.

Earlier this week, Joel was spotted catching up with one of his friends and former co-stars over lunch!

Late last year, it was announced Joel will be starring in the upcoming immigrant drama The Brutalist alongside Marion Cotillard, Mark Rylance, Sebastian Stan, Vanessa Kirby, Stacy Martin, Raffey Cassidy, and Alessandra Nivola.

Deadline reports that the movie will be directed by Vox Lux‘s Brady Corbet and it’s described as an “epic saga and unconventional love story.” The lead characters will both be Holocaust survivors.

The 46-year-old actor, who is a Golden Globe nominee for his work in the 2016 movie Loving, was seen shredding the waves while surfing that afternoon.

Joel has been in Australia for most of the year amid the pandemic. He grew up in the country and went to college in Sydney.

After his swim, Joel took off the top part of his wetsuit to show off his fit shirtless figure.

A few days before, Joel enjoyed another day at the beach where he was spotted swimming in the ocean after a run.

Joel Edgerton shows off his toned body while going shirtless at Bondi Beach on Thursday (July 2) in Sydney, Australia.

The 46-year-old actor was born and raised in Australia and it looks like he has been spending his time there while parts of the world are on lockdown due to the pandemic.

Just this past weekend, Joel was spotted in Sydney while picking up coffee and pastries.

Joel recently has been working on his series The Underground Railroad, about a young woman named Cora who makes an amazing discovery during her attempt to break free from slavery in the deep south. The limited series is directed by Barry Jenkins, and is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video.

Here’s a plot summary, via Deadline: “In an alternate timeline, the Underground Railroad, in reality a network of abolitionists, hidden routes, and safe houses that helped runaway slaves escape to freedom in the early to mid-1800s, is an actual railroad complete with engineers, conductors, tracks, and tunnels. Georgia slave Cora joins newcomer Caesar in an effort to ride the subterranean train to freedom.”
