John Cusack is revealing a scary incident with the police that occurred while he was at the Black Lives Matter protest in Chicago.

The 53-year-old actor took to Twitter on Saturday (May 30) to share a video of the police allegedly coming at him with batons.

“Cops didn’t like me filming the burning car so they came at me with batons. Hitting my bike. Ahhm here’s the audio,” John tweeted.

In the video, a person – who is assumed to be a police officer – can be heard screaming at John to move, followed by the sound of metal being slammed.

In another tweet, John confirmed reports that police were using pepper spray on the protestors, writing, “Pepper spray – is out – no tear gas that I’ve seen personally out here.”

John shared in another tweet that the police “didn’t assault” him.

They didn’t assault me- keep it in perspective and I should not be the headline or the story important thing is the anger & pain out there& how hair trigger it feels/ I’m of no importance,” John tweeted. “I was just a witness to what was happening in Chicago – didn’t see the press out at all”

John also said that he hopes that the protests indicate the end of Donald Trump‘s presidency.

“Would be very surprised if this is a one or two day event / this may well be the beginning of end of trump loathsome era – thank god,” John wrote. “Feels like many streams of outrage coming to a head- a wave peaking -Chicago scene was about getting to trump tower most of day.”

Celebrities are speaking out about the fires taking place in Brazil’s Amazon rainforest.

The rainforest – which produces 20 percent of the oxygen in the Earth’s atmosphere and slows down global warming – is burning “at the highest rate since the country’s space research center … began tracking [the fires] in 2013,” CNN reports.

Ariana Grande posted three photos of the fires in her Instagram Stories, which included the caption, “If ur not from Brazil, and dont have no clue about what’s happening here, here it goes. The largest rainforest on the world is on fire, for the 16th day. And the media is not giving a f–k for this. #PrayForAmazonia.”

Demi Lovato shared two Instagram Story posts – a screenshot of Ariana‘s post and another that read, “The Amazon has been burning for 3 weeks, and I’m just finding out because of the lack of media coverage. This is one of the most important ecosystems on earth! Spread awareness!”

Kendall Jenner posted four photos in her Instagram Stories with the words, “Our lungs are burning.”

Noah Cyrus also reposted Ariana‘s post, while Jaden Smith shared an Instagram photo of the fire, captioning it, “The AMAZON Rain FOREST IS ON FIRE THIS IS TERRIBLE IT’S ONE OF THE BIGGEST CARBON SINKS IN THE WORLD, Spread The Word. #theamazonrainforest.”

John Cusack is taking on an exciting new role!

The 52-year-old actor will star alongside Sasha Lane and Rainn Wilson in Amazon’s Utopia, an adaptation of the British drama written by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, Deadline confirmed on Tuesday (April 16).

Utopia follows a group of young adults who meet online that are mercilessly hunted by a shadowy deep state organization after they come into possession of a near-mythical cult underground graphic novel. Within the comic’s pages, they discover the conspiracy theories that may actually be real and are forced into the dangerous, unique and ironic position of saving the world.

John will play Dr. Kevin Christie. Here’s a character description: “Charismatic and media-savvy, with a brilliant biotech mind and a philanthropic outlook. Christie altruistically wants to change the world through science.”

The movie dropped a sneak peek on Wednesday (May 2), ahead of its premiere in theaters this June.

Here’s a plot summary: Lauren (Ricci) and Russel Curran (Fletcher) decide to move away from the bustle of the city and into the peaceful oasis of The Pinnacle, a coveted luxury condo boasting ultra-modern design, state-of-the-art features and security systems. Lauren begins to suspect the building has a dark side and seeks the help of Vernon (Cusack), an investigative journalist with an interest in cyber conspiracy. Together, they come to believe that The Pinnacle may be brainwashing unsuspecting residents.

Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz hit the red carpet together at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences’ 2015 Governors Awards on Saturday night (November 14) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in Hollywood.

The 47-year-old actor, who is leading the box office with his James Bond movie Spectre for a second weekend in a row, stepped out to support his wife’s movie Youth.

Rachel was joined at the event by her co-stars Michael Caine, Jane Fonda, and Paul Dano.

Paul was also seen spending time with his Love and Mercy co-star John Cusack at the annual gala, which is a kick-off to awards season.

Spike Lee takes on a classic Greek play for his new film Chi-Raq, set to be released on Amazon on Dec 4th.

Based on Aristophanes’ Greek play, Lysistrata, the new film follows gang violence by a few men in a neighborhood in Chicago.

Similar to the play’s plot-line, a powerful female member of the community, Lysistrata, bands all the women together to withhold sex from their partners to put an end to the fighting and bloodshed. Predictably this leads to the inevitable decision of the men to choose weapons or their women.

The film boasts a star studded cast including Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Cannon, Angela Bassett, John Cusack, Dave Chappelle, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, and Teyonah Parris playing Lysistrata.

This is also Amazon Studios first featured film.

Elizabeth Banks flashes a smile as she hits the red carpet at the premiere of her latest film Love & Mercy held at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater on Tuesday (June 2) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 41-year-old actress was joined at the event by her co-stars John Cusack and Paul Dano, writer Brian Wilson, as well as Hunger Games co-star Jena Malone, Kevin Bacon, Jennifer Beals, Carnie Wilson, Hayley Orrantia, and Kate Flannery who all came out to show their support.
