Jonathan Scott is opening up about some of his and his girlfriend Zooey Deschanel‘s holiday plans!
The 39-year-old New Girl actress is joining the 41-year-old Property Brothers star’s family for caroling this year – and she’s in charge.
“She is leading that mix,” Jonathan told People. “She is so into Christmas.”
Jonathan revealed that their go-to carols are “Joy to the World,” “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and “Mele Kalikimaka,” and they complement the tunes with cookies and hot chocolate.
Last year, Jonathan‘s family’s caroled in Los Angeles, where his brother Drew Scott and his wife Linda Phan recently moved.
“We went caroling, and the neighbors were aghast,” Jonathan said. “They were like, ‘What is happening? What is going on? Should we call the police? Who is it?’ And then they would see us and be like, ‘Oh, okay.’ … We’re good singers and whatnot, but [Zooey] is a professional. [This year] it is going to be a full performance with separate acts.”
“The one thing that [Drew and I] do that benefits, as far us as being twins, is that [when] we go caroling … Drew and I have the ability to resonate off each other’s voices and harmonize,” Jonathan added.
“[Zooey Deschanel and I] were singing from the moment that we first met,” Jonathan Scott shared. “The funny thing is I think that we caught her more off guard, because Drew and I sang ‘Joy to the World’ during Carpool Karaoke and she heard that and she was like, ‘What?’ She didn’t realize that we could harmonize.”
