'Gossip Girl' Reboot Creator Shares New Details About the Upcoming Series!

The showrunner of the upcoming Gossip Girl reboot is sharing TONS of new info about the series!

Joshua Safran – who serves as creator, showrunner, and executive producer of the reboot – took to his Twitter on Sunday evening (September 6) to answer questions from fans about what to expect in the upcoming HBO Max series.

While he didn’t reveal too many spoilers, Joshua did tease that the show is going to be “very, very queer” and that the main difference between the original series and the reboot is that the “majority” of the characters will be “diverse and/or queer.”

In July 2019, HBO Max announced that they were picking up the Gossip Girl reboot for 10 episodes. The series was supposed to begin production over the summer, but the pandemic had delayed production until 2021.

The new cast includes Emily Alyn Lind, Tavi Gevinson, Thomas Doherty, Adam Chanler-Berat and Zion Moreno, and Kristen Bell was set to return as the show’s narrator.

Jenna Dewan is starring in the upcoming musical drama series Mixtape!

The 37-year-old Step Up actress has landed a role in the 10-episode first season of the new Netflix series, which was previously a Fox pilot, Variety reports.

Hailing from Quantico creator Joshua Safran, the series also stars Callie Hernandez, Madeline Stowe, Jahmil French, Campbell Scott, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Megan Ferguson, and Evan Whitten.

The role of Raul Castillo, the male lead in the pilot, will be recast, as he recently booked a recurring role on Netflix show One Day at a Time.
