WarnerMedia is not giving in to fan demands.

Following the release of Zack Snyder‘s Justice League cut on HBO Max, fans have been leading social media campaigns for Warner Bros. to release the David Ayer director’s cut of 2016′s Suicide Squad with #ReleaseTheAyerCut, as well as demanding Zack direct his own version of the comics with #RestoreTheSnyderVerse.

Execs are standing up to the social media campaign in a new interview with Variety after fans began harassing and even threatening the studio.

“We’re not tolerating any of that. That behavior is reprehensible no matter what franchise you’re talking about or what business you’re talking about. It’s completely unacceptable. I’m very disappointed in the fans that have chosen to go to that negative place with regard to DC, with regard to some of our executives,” WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff said.

“It’s just disappointing because we want this to be a safe place to be. We want DC to be a fandom that feels safe and inclusive. We want people to be able to speak up for the things they love, but we don’t want it to be a culture of canceling things that any small faction isn’t happy with. We are not about that. We are about positivity and celebration.”

She also shot down rumors of future projects for a Justice League trilogy with Zack Snyder, saying she’s “very thankful for his many contributions to DC,” but the release of his cut marks “the completion” of the director’s DC films.

“We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.”

She added there are no plans to develop the demanded Suicide Squad cut.

“We wanted to give Zack the opportunity to complete his vision in a four-hour movie, which is impossible to do in theaters. We’re happy that we have HBO Max to let the rope out as it were and allow the fans to see all four hours of Zack’s vision,” she went on to say.

As it turns out, these actors shot their Justice League scenes separately.

Fans of director Zack Snyder have been campaigning all weekend for Warner Bros. to “Restore the SnyderVerse” and bring back the filmmaker to helm the upcoming DC Comics movies.

Zack Snyder’s Justice League was released last week and has been getting glowing reviews from fans of the franchise, earning a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. The original version of Justice League has a 71% audience score.

The Snyder cut was released on HBO Max after years of fans campaigning to get the version released.

Ann Sarnoff, the CEO of WarnerMedia Studios, gave an interview to Variety and opened up about the future of the DC Comics movies and TV shows.

“I appreciate that they love Zack’s work and we are very thankful for his many contributions to DC. We’re just so happy that he could bring his cut of the Justice League to life because that wasn’t in the plan until about a year ago. With that comes the completion of his trilogy,” Ann said. “We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.”

It looks like there are no plans to have Zack return for a Justice League sequel.

Zack Snyder has revealed that there was a plan to give Atom a spinoff movie.

The Justice League Snyder Cut director spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the idea he had and pitched to Warner Bros., and why it didn’t ultimately happen.

Ryan Choi, known as Atom, is played by Zheng Kai and all of his scenes in the original Justice League were actually cut. However, the scenes were recovered for the Snyder Cut.

“I had been pitching Warners to do an Atom movie with him in China, like a Chinese-cast superhero movie. That was my goal,” Zack revealed, as the end credits of the movie reveal that Ryan is an expert on nanotechnology.

With his scenes cut from the original movie, it’s thought that the studio wasn’t a fan of giving his character his own spinoff from the Justice League movie.

However, it’s not something that Zack has confirmed.

When you sit down to watch Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the first thing that you’ll see is a message about the movie’s aspect ratio.

“This film is presented in a 4:3 format to preserve the integrity of Zack Snyder’s creative vision,” the disclaimer reads.

So, are you wondering what 4:3 format means? This is the standard aspect ratio that was used for standard televisions since the invention of moving picture camera. When high-definition televisions were invented, most modern televisions switched to the 16:9 displays.

IMAX movies are presented in 1.43:1, which is nearly equal to the 4:3 format.

“My intent was to have the movie, the entire film, play in a gigantic 4:3 aspect ratio on a giant IMAX screen,” Snyder said last year. “Superheroes tend to be, as figures, they tend to be less horizontal. Maybe Superman when he’s flying, but when he’s standing, he’s more of a vertical. Everything is composed and shot that way, and a lot of the restoration is sort of trying to put that back. Put these big squares back… it’s a completely different aesthetic. It’s just got a different quality and one that is unusual. No one’s doing that.”

Jared Leto filmed some new scenes for Zack Snyder’s Justice League, the new four-hour version of the epic superhero movie, and some cool details about his work were just revealed.

One of Jared‘s lines from the trailer, in which he says “we live in a society,” went viral last month and now director Zack Snyder is talking about that moment.

Zack acknowledged to THR how the line is a reference to a Joker-related meme and the line was ad-libbed by Jared.

“We went back and forth a bit, and I’ll give Jared credit for that little ad-lib there, because it was really, really beautiful,” Zack said.

“It was based on a bunch of ideas that I had had over the years. I had been planting a bunch of Easter eggs in the other movies that I thought it was time to harvest into this scene,” he added.

Jared played the Joker in the 2016 movie Suicide Squad and Zack wanted to bring him back for this bonus scene in his cut of Justice League.

“Zack and Jared talked for a while,” his wife, producer Deborah Snyder, revealed. “Before we approached the studio, he wanted to make sure that they would be interested. At first, it was like ‘No,’ and then it was like, ‘Well, maybe,’ and then Zack was like, ‘Do you want to see the scene that I worked on?’”

Ben Affleck and Jared Leto were never in the same room for Zack Snyder’s Justice League!

The two stars shot their scenes separately for the film, which just debuted on HBO Max, Insider reported.

Almost all of the Zack Snyder cut consists of pre-existing footage from the original production in 2017. There is only one new scene shot last year: the post-apocalyptic Knightmare epilogue involving the return of Jared Leto’s Joker.

“Zack always felt the ultimate for him was to see Batman and Joker together in a scene…it was something we thought about while working on the movie but couldn’t figure out how it would fit. So when we had this opportunity to do the movie again he said he really wanted to do it,” said producer Deborah Snyder to Insider.

“Zack had talked to Jared a few times about it since Suicide Squad. ‘He was like ‘I don’t know,’ then it went to ‘Okay, maybe’ and then it was finally, ‘Okay.’”

However, the pandemic made shooting with everyone difficult.

The scene features Batman (Affleck), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher), Mera (Amber Heard), Deathstoke (Joe Manganiello), and the Joker (Leto) preparing to battle Superman (Henry Cavill), who, in the dream, goes evil after a tragedy. And now, it’s been revealed that the scene was filmed without all of these actors ever being on the same set.

“We actually shot Ben separate from Jared,” Deborah Snyder revealed.

“And Ezra was shooting Fantastic Beasts so he was in England and Zack had to direct him over Zoom…It was really fun to be able to do that, to get everyone together to shoot that.”

According to Deborah, the only people who were actually together on set were Ben, Ray, Amber and Joe.

The reviews for Justice League‘s brand new cut, dubbed Zack Snyder‘s Justice League, are finally here!

The film is a re-release of the original 2017 film that Zack left halfway through due to a family matter. Joss Whedon took over, and for years, many wanted to see the original cut of the film after disappointment over Whedon‘s edit.

In this version, determined to ensure Superman’s (Henry Cavill) ultimate sacrifice was not in vain, Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) aligns forces with Diana Prince (Gal Gadot) with plans to recruit a team of metahumans to protect the world from an approaching threat of catastrophic proportions. The task proves more difficult than Bruce imagined, as each of the recruits must face the demons of their own pasts to transcend that which has held them back, allowing them to come together, finally forming an unprecedented league of heroes. Now united, Batman (Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and The Flash (Ezra Miller) may be too late to save the planet from Steppenwolf, DeSaad and Darkseid and their dreadful intentions. The film hits HBO Max on March 18, 2021.
