Justin Hartley is opening up about the painful injury that he suffered in the middle of quarantine.
The 43-year-old This Is Us actor revealed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, for the episode airing on Tuesday (October 27), that he tore his bicep off his arm while working out at home.
Justin built a gym at his home at the beginning of the lockdown because he figured he’d use the time at home to work out and stay in shape.
“I was working out and I ended up doing something really ridiculous. I tore my bicep off my arm. It was nasty. The tendon that holds it to the bone came off. It sounded like someone ripped your shirt. It was bad,” Justin said. “[The exercise] was something that I made up. It was something that I shouldn’t have done. It was like a bicep curl, but I think I jerked the weight or maybe it was too much weight.”
“I heard it. I think I was in shock, but it felt like… the way I would describe it is, I stopped because I heard it. It was an awful sound. I felt like a little grain of sand [near my bicep]. Then it turned into like a pea, then a marble, then a golf ball, then a tennis ball, then a softball, and then a watermelon. It just feeling like it was huge, like a human head was in there,” Justin added.
Justin said “they put it back” after cutting him open and it took him about three months to heal.
During the conversation, Justin was asked about his personal life overshadowing acting.
“I don’t know if I agree that the acting goes on the back burner. I think this country and the world, especially this country, has an insatiable appetite for gossip and for sort of clickbait stuff, which is basically, you know, don’t do any research. Don’t look anything up, just if you read it, then it must be true,” he said.
“People that I associate with form opinions based on facts, and not based on kind of, well, bologna, but that’s okay…I understand it as well, because if I see something online that it is something outrageous…like I’m a big Dodger fan. Right. And if I see something online that’s unbelievably outrageous about the Dodgers before I think, ‘Oh, that’s obviously clickbait’ I might actually click on it. So I’m not, you know, impervious to that, either. I think people want to know about other people’s personal affairs, but I would just caution people. I caution my daughter on this all the time. I tell her, I said, ‘you really can’t just believe something because you read it,’” he continued.
“I I’m really happy with where I am. I’m happy with my career. I’m happy with my personal life. I’m healthy, I’m safe. I’m I mean, all of those things. I’m very thankful. For the people who want to dive into the gossip and believe everything, they read, that’s fine too. If they’re getting entertainment from that, I think it sort of comes with the territory, but I’ve also had his view that I will have a public life, but I will be very private about my personal affairs.”
Chrishell Stause is opening up about how she feels about seeing her ex-husband, Justin Hartley, moving on so soon after their divorce.
The 39-year-old Selling Sunset star spoke to People, admitting that it was painful for her.
“I feel like anybody would be heartbroken to see how quickly or easily you are replaced; of course that’s going to sting,” she shared.
However, Chrishell is “excited to get back out there…I’m a hopeless romantic, so I think it can still happen. It’s 2020, maybe you could meet your person through an Instagram DM. I don’t know. Crazier things have happened!”
Chrishell is currently competing on Dancing With The Stars, alongside pro partner, Gleb Savchenko.
The two were seen this afternoon (September 30) heading into practice after being tested for coronavirus earlier in the week, a new protocol for the show.
