Kelsea Ballerini Performs New Version of 'Hole in the Bottle' at ACM Awards 2020!

Kelsea Ballerini hits the stage at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium for her performance at the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards, which aired on Wednesday (September 16).

The 27-year-old country singer performed the ballerini version of her song “Hole in the Bottle.”

If you didn’t know, Kelsea dropped her album Kelsea back in March and she deconstructed all of the songs and released the new versions in a new album titled ballerini just last week.

“So this year at the ACMs I am performing my single ‘Hole In The Bottle’ but I’m performing the ballerini version of it, which is super fun to be able to play a new version of a song that’s also still kind of new and to play at The Ryman feels really fitting cause it’s all organic and stripped and it’s a drinking song and I don’t know about you but it’s really been a thing the last five months of my life,” Kelsea told Country Now about the performance. “I just have to like pat everyone on the back because it’s been so safe and everyone’s taking every precaution to get music to people but do it the right way and I think that just represents country music so well and to be able to be a part of this community and a part of this show kind of being the first real thing that we’ve gotten to do in months and months and months, I’m just really grateful to be here.”

Kelsea Ballerini Says She Misses the Red Carpet Ahead of ACM Awards Appearance

Kelsea Ballerini poses for photos while attending a virtual radio row press day for the 2020 ACM Awards on Monday (September 14) in Nashville, Tenn.

The 27-year-old country singer opened up about how she used to get so anxious on the red carpet, but she misses getting dressed up for them amid the pandemic.

“Like, I hated them because I got so anxious,” she told Taste of Country. “I don’t know why. I would just struggle really bad with anxiety about them, so I would just run on, do photos and like three interviews and leave because I just hated it.”

“And then I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, Carrie Underwood is on the carpet. Get out of her way, she’s the queen,’” Kelsea continued. “But now, I miss it so much. I’m like, ‘Yes, put me in a pair of Spanx and let’s go!’”

Well, good news for Kelsea (and for us): she’ll be back on the red carpet for the ACM Awards on Wednesday!

“So friends, my album still comes out Friday, which I am so excited about, more than I can even say,” Kelsea shared in the video message. “However, this week is going to look a lot different than we had planned for and hoped for and dreamed up. I really wanted there to be so many moments and opportunities for me, face to face, to play these songs for you for the first time, and hug as many of you as possible.”

She continues, “But, what I care about more than that is everyone staying safe and staying healthy, so a lot of our plans have changed.
