Insecure's Kendrick Sampson Attacked By Police in Colombia

Insecure actor and activist Kendrick Sampson was attacked by police in Cartagena, Colombia and it was caught on video by a Good Samaritan.

The 32-year-old actor posted the video on his social media and explained what happened to him.

“Cartagena is AMAZING but this is the 6th time I was stopped in 5 days. It happens to Black Colombians often. I’m told stopping is policy but what is NOT is they reached down my underwear aggressively, slap my arms 5 times hard, punch me in my jaw and pull his gun on me,” Kendrick posted. “He then cuffed me and dragged me through the streets. I did not resist any legal procedure. Thank u for posting @nataliareyesg & for helping me through this. And to the person who recorded this.” We are linking to the video right here, but want to include a trigger warning as it includes police brutality.

He also gave his followers updates on his Instagram Story about the process he followed afterwards to report this violence.

Kendrick was a victim of police brutality during a Black Lives Matter protest earlier this year.

We are hoping Kendrick is doing okay and will update when we hear more.

Michael B. Jordan Calls on Execs to 'Commit to Black Hiring' in Passionate Speech at BLM March

Michael B. Jordan speaks on stage while attending a Black Lives Matter protest on Saturday afternoon (June 6) in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The 33-year-old Black Panther actor vowed to promote diversity and black culture. He also called on Hollywood agents to commit to black hiring.

“You committed to a 50/50 gender parity in 2020, where is the challenge to commit to black hiring? Black content lead by black executives, black consultants. Are you policing our storytelling as well? Let us bring our darkness to the light,” Michael said.

Michael mentioned how his production company has an inclusion rider, but “it has to go beyond that.”

“Anybody that deals with me, if you have racist beliefs, if you have a racist bone in your body, if you’re not with me, if you don’t stand with me and people that look like me, you don’t need to be with me,” Michael said. “I use my power to demand diversity but it’s time that studios and agencies…do so.”

Michael was joined by actor Kendrick Sampson while walking in a march that day as well.
