The cast of Glee reunited to pay tribute to late co-star Naya Rivera and you can watch the video right here!

16 members of the cast gathered on Zoom to talk about their favorite memories of Naya on the 10-year anniversary of her character Santana Lopez coming out as a lesbian on network TV. The reunion was part of the 2021 GLAAD Media Awards, which aired on Thursday (April 8).

Demi Lovato, who played Santana’s girlfriend Dani on Glee, opened the tribute. She said, “I will always cherish the chance I got to play Naya‘s girlfriend, Dani, on Glee. The character Naya played, Santana Lopez, was groundbreaking for closeted queer girls, like I was at the time. Her ambition and accomplishments inspired Latina women all over the world.”

The cast members who then participated in the reunion included Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jessalyn Gilsig, Dot-Marie Jones, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Alex Newell, Lauren Potter, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, and Jenna Ushkowitz. Notably absent were Lea Michele and Dianna Agron.

The reunion ended with Jessalyn reading a note written by Naya‘s mom.

A Glee reunion is happening! Some of the cast members will participate in the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards on April 8 as a tribute to the late Naya Rivera and her character Santana Lopez.

Those participating include Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Jenna Ushkowitz, Vanessa Lengies, Jacob Artist, Alex Newell, and Becca Tobin.

Lea Michele‘s name was not included in the Deadline press release, so it is assumed that she will not be participating. Ahead of Naya‘s tragic death, many stars spoke out about Lea‘s behavior on set. Lea is also a new mother.

Dianna Agron‘s name was also not included.

Naya tragically passed away at the age of 33 in a drowning accident in July of 2020.

The 2021 GLAAD Media Awards will be hosted by Niecy Nash. You’ll be able to stream the reunion on YouTube on April 8 at 8pm ET.

A new viral tweet is asking people to answer the question, “what’s something that ISN’T gay but still FEELS gay to you?”

Kevin McHale‘s answer to the tweet is getting a lot of attention because he responded with a GIF of his Glee co-star Darren Criss!

If you don’t remember, Darren played a gay character on Glee even though he’s straight (and married!) in real life. It was the opposite for Kevin, who is openly gay in real life, but played a straight character on the show.

Several Glee stars responded to the tweet, including Jenna Ushkowitz, Alex Newell, and Darren himself. Even the Fox TV network’s official Twitter account replied!

Kevin McHale is doing some explaining…

The 32-year-old Glee alum amusingly shared a series of tweets on Saturday night (August 1) in which he revealed that he accidentally gave his boyfriend Austin McKenzie salmonella due to his cooking.

“But have you undercooked chicken sausage (unintentionally) and then served it to your bf and then he got superrrrr sick and you thought it was covid and you got tested twice but nah you just fed him salmonella? He should break up with me. I would,” he tweeted.

When told that Austin needs to take his phone away, Kevin then added: “He’s asleep because I poisoned him!”

He then tweeted “Omg” when he realized that Austin hilariously changed his profile bio to: “I left Twitter many years ago. I’m back on now to monitor my thirsty boyfriend, Kevin Mchale, who ‘accidentally’ gave me salmonella 5 days ago.”

We’re hoping Austin feels better soon!

Kevin recently reminisced with co-stars about getting in trouble while filming the Glee pilot.

Naya Rivera‘s body was discovered on the seventh anniversary of Cory Monteith‘s death and their co-star Kevin McHale believes he helped find her.

The 32-year-old actor took to Twitter on Monday night (July 13) to share his thoughts.

“I’m not religious by any means, but you’d be hard-pressed to convince me that Cory didn’t help find our girl today. These 2, in many ways, were the male and female versions of one another. So nice, cared deeply, were stupidly talented, the most fun, and really really good people,” Kevin wrote.

Kevin quote-tweeted a tweet that a fan wrote that included a video of Naya and Cory greeting fans after one of the live Glee concerts.

Earlier in the day, Kevin wrote a beautiful tribute for Naya in which he talked about the plans they had made just last week.

Investigators revealed the devastating way that they believe Naya died and what she did in her final moments was truly heroic.

Kevin McHale is paying tribute to his longtime friend and Glee co-star Naya Rivera after her tragic death at Lake Piru.

The 32-year-old actor, who played Artie Abrams on the Fox series, opened up about the plans that he was making with Naya just one week ago.

Kevin also said that exactly seven years ago, he and Naya were together in London when they learned about the death of their co-star Cory Monteith.

“My Naya, my Snixxx, my Bee. I legitimately can not imagine this world without you,” Kevin wrote on Instagram. “7 years ago today, she and I were together in London when we found out about Cory. We were so far away, but I was so thankful that we had each other. A week ago today we were talking about running away to Hawaii. This doesn’t make sense. And I know it probably never will.”

“She was so independent and strong and the idea of her not being here is something I cannot comprehend. She was the single most quick-witted person I’ve ever met, with a steel-trap memory that could recall the most forgettable conversations from a decade ago verbatim. The amount of times she would memorize all of those crazy monologues on Glee the morning of and would never ever mess up during the scene… I mean, she was clearly more talented than the rest of us,” Kevin continued. “She was the most talented person I’ve ever known. There is nothing she couldn’t do and I’m furious we won’t get to see more.”

ABC7 Eyewitness News caught a heartbreaking moment featuring Naya Rivera‘s family and friends on site at Lake Piru in California just before it was announced that a body was found during the search for the missing Glee star.

It appeared as if Naya‘s loved ones gathered and stood hand-in-hand together, looking out on the large body of water where search and rescue divers are looking for the Glee star. She went missing on Wednesday (July 8) in the lake after going boating with her four-year-old son Josey. Josey told authorities that his mom never came back to the boat after swimming.

Fans think they identified Glee co-stars Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, and Jenna Ushkowitz as part of the group that were there to support during the search.

No further updates have been given by authorities and we are awaiting a press conference shortly. Naya‘s Glee co-stars have also been posting messages about her today after news that a body was found.

Our thoughts are with all of Naya Rivera‘s loved ones.
