Owen Wilson Reveals Why He's Never Hosted 'SNL'

There’s a reason Owen Wilson has never hosted Saturday Night Live.

The 51-year-old Wonder actor opened up during a recent episode of Kevin Nealon’s YouTube series Hiking with Kevin.

“I get really nervous with public speaking,” Owen said. “I’ve never done any of those commencement addresses or Saturday Night Live just because I get too nervous.”

“I feel like it always gives me a bit of panic of, oh, are you going to have the right tie?” he added about attending formal public events. “Where is the cumberbund and cuff links? It just seems a little nerve-wracking.”

Owen has only appeared on SNL once, as his Zoolander character Hansel along with Ben Stiller in 2016 on “Weekend Update.”

He also spilled on landing a role in Ben‘s The Cable Guy, revealing, “He didn’t even want to cast me. It was actually Judd [Apatow] who was like, you gotta cast that guy.”
