Laura Dern is back as Ellie Sattler!

The 53-year-old actress recently arrived on set of the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion, which is currently filming in London.

Laura took to Instagram on Tuesday (August 4) to share a photo of her “Dr Ellie Sattler” chair positioned next to Sam Neill‘s “Dr Alan Grant” chair.

“Day one. Hello old friend. #jurassicworlddominion,” Laura wrote along with the photo.

Laura and Sam starred together in the first Jurassic World released in 1993 and then reunited on-screen again in the third installment Jurassic Park III, which was released in 2001.

Sam shared the same photo on Twitter, while adding the caption, “Hello old friend.”

Jurassic World: Dominion is getting started again.

The highly anticipated sequel in the long-running franchise started filming again this week in the U.K. amid the pandemic, Variety reported Friday (July 10).

“Any reports indicating that Jurassic World: Dominion has halted production are categorically untrue. The production is in its fifth day of shooting today, and we’re thrilled to be back in front of the camera on this incredible project,” a Universal rep confirmed in a statement amid reports that the production experienced a shutdown due to more than one crew member testing positive for coronavirus.

Jurassic World: Dominion was four weeks into its 20-week production when production first shut down.

Variety reported that Universal would be implementing new safety procedures to keep the set at Pinewood Studios free from COVID-19. The cost, including temperature checks and coronavirus testing, is apparently in the $5 million range according to insiders.

The movie stars Chris Pratt reprising his role as Owen Grady and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire Dearing, plus Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Justice Smith, and BD Wong. The movie is set to open on June 11, 2021.

Earlier this week, Laura, who has biracial children, spoke out about racial injustice on her platforms and shared five organizations you can donate and support for Black Lives Matter.

“As my teenage daughter said today, ‘How many more people have to die for us to realize that the people who are supposed to ‘protect’ us put our lives in more danger. How many more mothers or fathers, sons or daughters, brothers or sisters, have to die for us to notice that nobody is safe. Nobody is protecting us. We see others get targeted with our own two eyes each and every day. But it doesn’t stop. It never stops,’” she captioned her post.

Earlier that day, Laura took to Instagram showed off some tiny tomatoes she recently grew in her garden, along with the caption, “I grew something edible!!!”

“I, like Renata, pretty much drink wine,” Laura said, pointing out the similarity with her Big Little Lies character. “That’s it, my whole life. I’ve never had cocktails, guys.”

However, someone had sent her a bottle of tequila and she decided to try the liquor during quarantine.

Laura revealed just why she hadn’t tried tequila before now:“I saw a worm in somebody’s tequila and I was like, ’These people are crazy. I’m never going to drink tequila,’ and that was it.”

Laura Dern heads back to her car after running a few errands around town in Los Angeles on Wednesday (May 6).

The 53-year-old Oscar winning actress picked up a few things for her home while wearing a mask.

In a recent chat with Reese Witherspoon, Laura opened up about giving the star the best gift for her recent birthday.

“It was the very beginning of quarantine and I only had one thing that I wanted,” Reese shared. “And you can tell them what it is.”

Laura confirmed that Reese “wanted us to reenact, yes it’s true, a scene from Dynasty” – and it happened!

The scene that happened had Reese playing Krystle Carrington and Laura as Alexis Carrington.

“The most fun thing was we just started watching clips of the two of them like crazy to figure out what we could reenact in our quarantine social distanced world,” Laura added. “And our teenagers were our crew, they were amazing.”

“Our teenagers filmed it, did the music, and edited it,” Reese shared. “Maybe one day, we’ll let people see it.”

Laura Dern rocks a mask and gloves for a little extra protection while out on a walk with her mom, Diane Ladd, in Los Angeles earlier in the week.

The 53-year-old actress met up with her mom, and her husband Robert Charles Hunter, to walk their dogs together for the afternoon.

Taking to Instagram this week, Laura showed her support for one particular organization, the One Fair Wage Emegency Fund.

“I’m supporting the @OneFairWage Emergency Fund to support tipped restaurant workers, delivery drivers and other gig and service workers because they need our help,” she wrote to her fans. “These are the folks who were already struggling before — and now they’re in crisis.”
