Leah Remini Celebrates Getting Accepted to NYU: 'I Am So Excited'

It’s a big day for Leah Remini!

On Thursday (May 20), the 50-year-old two-time Emmy winner took to Instagram announce that she has been accepted into an associate’s program in liberal arts at New York University.

“I am so excited, in tears and wanted to share this with you guys,” Leah wrote along with a screenshot of her acceptance letter. “For someone like me, a person who desperately wanted a higher education and options in my life, coming from a cult and a family who didn’t value an education, this is a very big day for me.”

She continued, “This didn’t come easy. This is one of the last chunks of my life that I am taking back for myself from Scientology. It took a lot for me to take this step, for fear that I was not smart enough, not worthy enough, not able to do the work that will be required, my age…. I did it anyway with a lot of encouragement from a very special person in my life. I am ready to do the work and honestly, I’m scared s–tless! And I am excited to start on my journey.”

Leah concluded her post by thanking NYU for “believing in me.”

“It’s just never too late is it? Thank you to NYU @nyuniversity for believing in me,” Leah wrote. “And thank you John @iescentralmass, you are an amazing man and anyone needing someone to cheer them on, to walk them through this (sometimes) intimidating process, who are scared to take this first step, should choose you! Thank you from the bottom of my heart. #goafteryourdreams #dreambig”

Leah‘s longtime friend Jennifer Lopez then took to the comments to congratulate her.

“So proud of you baby! So happy for you ❤️ #noitsnevertoolate,” Jennifer wrote.

Congrats Leah!

Leah Remini Accuses Sharon Osbourne of Using Racist & Homophobic Language

Leah Remini is accusing Sharon Osbourne of using racist and homophobic language during their time co-hosting The Talk together years ago.

The Talk premiered back in 2010 with co-hosts Sharon, Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen, Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete as co-hosts.

Over the weekend, Holly accused Sharon of calling her “ghetto.” Sharon has been under a major microscope since defending Piers Morgan over his comments about Meghan Markle.

In a bombshell report from journalist Yashar Ali, he wrote, “Osbourne objected to Chen having any leadership role on the show and repeatedly tried to rally Remini and Robinson Peete in an effort to marginalize Chen,” Leah told him.

WARNING: There is graphic, racist, and homophobic language included in the below text.

Leah said that Sharon allegedly said of Julie, “I mean, who the f*ck does slanty eyes think she is? She shouldn’t be pillow-talking with our boss.”

Leah also alleges that Sharon said during other conversations about Sara and Julie, “Why won’t the p*ssy licker do anything about the wonton?” and “Why won’t the fish eater be part of this discussion? She’s the f*cking executive producer.”

Leah added about herself, “Not only did I do nothing about the racism and bullying I was receiving and witnessing, I was party to it. I had to own up to my own ugly.”

She added that the show was a “toxic environment” and was “easily manipulated into a web of high school vitriol, hatred and bullying.”

Leah Remini Calls Out Tom Cruise For His Rant on 'Mission Impossible 7': 'This Is All For Publicity'

Leah Remini isn’t holding back in what she really thinks of Tom Cruise.

The 50-year-old actress wrote a long response following Tom‘s outburst on the set of Mission Impossible 7 to crew who had reportedly broken COVID-19 protocols.

Leah shared on The Underground Bunker reporter Tony Ortega‘s website that Tom‘s rant shows his true personality and also says that the blow-up is all for publicity and not authentic.

“Tom’s reaction that was released yesterday shows his true personality. He is an abusive person. I witnessed it, I’ve been a recipient of it on a small level, and I’ve been told of similar abuse by his former girlfriend, his employees, and his friends. This is the real Tom,” Leah penned.

She went on, “Tom does not care about the families of his crew; this is all for publicity. Tom does not believe in family values. I mean, how anyone is falling for this is just mindblowing. I would bet that Tom had this rant written for him and had his Scientology assistant record and release it. Tom seems to think that Hollywood is incapable of making films without his help. Saying such a thing indicates the godlike figure Tom believes he is, and what he is told by Scientology.”

“This behavior is not normal or appropriate,” Leah added. “No one can respond to his outburst without being fired. And again, this is not a pandemic that Tom and Scientology believe in.”

Leah also points to Scientology, in which Tom is a high ranking member of, as one of the reasons for his rant.

She famously took on the Church and religion for its beliefs with a A&E series, and currently has a podcast, exploring new claims against them.

Leah Remini Believes Tom Cruise Has a 'Master Plan' Involving Daughter Suri

Former Scientologist Leah Remini is commenting on Tom Cruise‘s relationship with his daughter with Katie Holmes, Suri, 14.

“Scientology considers Katie a suppressive person which is an enemy and therefore Tom believes, like all Scientologists, that he can’t be connected to Suri,” Leah told the New York Post. “I’m sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older so that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother.”

“I knew Katie when she was in (Scientology) and she seemed very indoctrinated into Tom’s world, but as time went on, and I understood why she did what she did to protect her daughter … I’m only assuming that there’s some type of agreement to protect her daughter.”

Leah said she is “really proud” of Katie “for getting her daughter out of something that would have been potentially very toxic and dangerous for not only Suri but for their relationship.”

If you don’t know, Leah was a member of Scientology until 2013. She has slammed Tom Cruise before over his association with the church.

Leah Remini Slams Tom Cruise, Claims He 'Manipulated His Image to Be the Good Guy'

Leah Remini is calling out Tom Cruise.

“I think it’s time for people to start waking up to the real facts here. Tom has for years manipulated his image to be the good guy,” Leah told Us Weekly. “Although I believe there was a time when Tom was a decent and kindhearted person, he has morphed himself into David Miscavige [leader of Scientology] and is completely dedicated to Scientology’s mission to ‘clear’ planet Earth — which means making 80 percent of the world’s population into Scientologists.”

If you don’t know, Leah was a Scientologist for most of her life until 2013 when she left the religion. Tom is one of Scientology’s biggest celebrity participants.

Leah also made claims about Tom‘s marriage to Nicole Kidman.

“[Senior Vice President at the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre, Tommy Davis] … used confidential Scientology counseling sessions to bring a wedge between Tom and his wife Nicole because Nicole didn’t want to do Scientology anymore,” Leah added. “And David Miscavige, through Marty Rathbun, got rid of Nicole to get Tom closer to Scientology.”

Tom has for years used his Church to torture his employees by sending them in for interrogations at their expense, causing a woman I know to go bankrupt simply because the hours she worked for Tom made it impossible for her to raise her family,” she added. “She was interrogated and punished by her church for years, causing her to lose her home. These are some of the things Tom has done that never get talked about, and I think it’s time to change that.”

This isn’t the first time Leah has called out Tom.

Leah Remini Reacts to Thandie Newton's 'Nightmare' Experience Working With Tom Cruise

Leah Remini is reacting to Thandie Newton‘s candid story about working with Tom Cruise, and not exactly loving the experience.

The Scientology and the Aftermath host spoke to The Daily Beast about her dissatisfaction with Tom, as well as how she felt seeing Thandie speak her mind.

If you didn’t know, Thandie said she was “scared” of Tom on the set of Mission: Impossible 2 and said the experience was a “nightmare,” claiming he handed out Scientology recruiting material as gifts to cast and crew.

“That takes huge balls to do what she did, and if more people speak out in that way, and be brave enough to do so, I think we might get somewhere. Tom has gotten away with being this ‘nice guy,’ because that’s what Scientology policy says — to create good PR in the world and make those ‘good actions’ known. But if you actually look at his actions, they’re not consistent,” Leah said.

She also said she was reprimanded after asking why Tom was “the poster child” for the organization, “because Tom Cruise is considered a messiah in Scientology,” and says he’s not “this super-nice guy” like people believe.

One other very interesting star made headlines after following Thandie Newton on social media right after she made those comments about Tom Cruise. Find out who…
