Production for the Ray Donovan movie is officially underway!

Liev Schreiber began filming scenes for his upcoming movie on Wednesday afternoon (July 7) in Boston, Mass.

For his day of filming, the 53-year-old actor looked handsome in a black suit and white dress suit as he walked around the city filming scenes.

Earlier that day, Liev took to Instagram to celebrate his first day of filming.

“Took us 8 years but we’re here! So happy that we get to finish where it all started. Big up to Boston!!! @raydonovan #southie #finishwhereyoustart,” Liev wrote along with the below post.

Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey will also be reprising in their roles in the movie, with Liev co-writing the script with series showrunner David Hollander, who will be serving as director.

The Ray Donovan movie will continue the story where it left off, with Mickey (Voight) in the wind and Ray (Schreiber) determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. It will also weave together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

Ray Donovan aired on Showtime from 2013 to 2020.

The 53-year-old Ray Donovan actor and his girlfriend went for a bike ride around the neighborhood on Saturday afternoon (April 10) in New York City.

Joining the couple for their outing was Liev‘s dog Scout, who trotted alongside Liev while he rode his bike.

Liev recently returned home to NYC after spending several months in Italy filming his upcoming movie Across The River and Through The Trees with co-stars Josh Hutcherson and Matilda De Angelis.

Back in January, Liev and Matilda were spotted filming an steamy kissing scene in Venice.

The news was announced today that Ray Donovan will be back with a feature film, and fans can’t hold back their excitement on social media.

Showtime revealed that the movie will pick up right where it left off when the show was abruptly cancelled last year.

Stars Liev Schreiber, Jon Voight and Kerris Dorsey will all return in their roles, with Liev also co-writing the script with series showrunner David Hollander.

David will also be directing the pic.

The Ray Donovan movie will continue the story where it left off, with Mickey (Voight) in the wind and Ray determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage. Production is expected to start up on the movie later this year in New York. Liev previously told fans not to lose hope about a continuation of the series in the future last year.

Liev Schreiber rides in the back of a vintage Buick while Josh Hutcherson drives during filming on their movie together around the Venice, Italy area on Wednesday (February 17).

The two actors made their way to Fossalta di Piave on the Piave River, which is just 30 miles north of Venice, to film a few days of scenes for Across The River and Through The Trees.

Josh and Liev were spotted driving across a pontoon bridge as they took in the picturesque scenes of the country.

Liev was also seen resting his leg on the back seat after having knee surgery earlier in the month.

Just last month, Liev was seen filming an intimate kissing scene with Matilda De Angelis, who plays Renata, the young Italian countess who his character falls in love with.
