Lionel Richie hits the purple carpet alongside Shania Twain as they arrive at the 2019 Keeping Memory Alive’s Power of Love Gala on Saturday night (March 16) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

Joining the singers at the event included Anthony Anderson and wife Alvina along with Ne-Yo, Leona Lewis, and Dancing with the Stars‘ Peta Murgatroyd.

During the event Lionel, Shania, Ne-Yo, and Leona hit the stage for performances alongside Snoop Dogg and Miguel.

Lionel was honored at the benefit in support of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.

“What you all are doing tonight is helping mankind and actually making a difference in the world,” Lionel said while accepting his honor. “I’m so proud to be here tonight to share this award.”

Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie all stopped by Good Morning America this morning (February 27) to dish about the all-new season of American Idol!

The three judges revealed that this year’s pool of talented contestants “really showed up,” noting that the singing competition is “not always about the person who wins.”

“It is called American Idol not American Idols and some of these kids that have made it to the top — they all deserve that spot,” Katy, 34, said. “History says maybe it’s not about the person that wins.”

“I tell people every day you got to be very aware of the fact that No. 1 means you have to be famous now,” Lionel added. “[Being a runner up] means you’ve studied the course and can figure it out and you can go home and have time to work on it.”

Katy, Luke and Lionel then engaged in a friendly competition to see if they can name each other’s songs in guessing game – Watch more after the cut!

On social media and her relationship with Scott Disick: “I think a lot of people think they have to prove their relationships through social media, and I’m just happy being private about my relationship. It’s not like I won’t post pictures about it, but I like having my little private life.”

On not being a party girl: “I’m not a party girl, and I really don’t like the paparazzi.” She added that she prefers hosting couples’ games nights for her friends, including “My friend Tina and her boyfriend, my friend Gigi… No, not that Gigi. No one you would know.” They eat take-out pizza and play Taboo or a game called Spoons. “Clearly we have a lot of time on our hands.”

On her and Scott’s low-key date nights: “Whatever we do, whether it’s going to the cinema or dinner, we’ll always just end up going home and watching a movie after.’

On her father Lionel Richie: “When I say my dad was strict, he came from a Southern family, and he still very much believes in the morals his parents in­stilled in him. I wasn’t one of those privileged, spoiled children. We had our blessings, but I was told if I wanted something, I had to do it for myself. I feel like my parents got training on my first two siblings, so I got the tightened leash.”

Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan and Ryan Seacrest are all having fun in the sun together!

The American Idol judges and host were spotted filming scenes together on Tuesday (January 29) in Oahu, Hawaii.

The group filmed a scene for the upcoming season at Ko’olina Lagoon at the Disney Aulani resort on the west side of Oahu. In the scene, Lionel, Katy and Bryan are having a party before Ryan shows up and tells them to get back to work.

The upcoming 17th season of the show will premiere on March 3.

Lionel Richie‘s son, model Miles Brockman Richie, has been accused of allegedly claimed he had a bomb at a UK Airport.

The 24-year-old model also allegedly hit an airport security guard, TMZ reports.

Apparently, Miles wasn’t let on his flight and then became upset and claimed he had a bomb that he would detonate if he wasn’t allowed on the airplane. Police had to intervene when he allegedly punched airport security.

He did not get arrested but “accepted a caution” on Saturday (January 19) for “communicating false information causing a bomb hoax and battery following an incident at Heathrow (Airport) Terminal 5.” Accepting a “caution” in the UK is essentially admitting to a crime without getting arrested.

Sofia Richie is grieving.

The 20-year-old model revealed that her beloved dog, Jake, sadly died in an update on her social media on Monday (January 7).

“Jake became our angel today. No words can describe how much he meant to me. I will forever miss him 💔,” Sofia captioned a video of herself giving love to Jake in a black-and-white clip.

“Unconditional love 🖤 Today we lost one of our dearest family members … 🐾 JAKE 😢,” her father Lionel Richie wrote on his own Instagram with another video of Jake.

Lionel Richie, Rita Wilson, and Dennis Quaid team up at the 2018 CMA Awards!

The 69-year-old “All Night Long” singer, the 62-year-old My Big Fat Greek Wedding actress, and the 64-year-old Kin actor stepped out for the event held at the Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday (November 14) in Nashville, Tenn.

All three stars took the stage as presenters during the show.

“[Acting and singing are] both very different,” Rita told ET on the carpet. “I would say that music, for me, is something that I feel more creatively satisfied or connected to because it’s so pure. It’s such a pure expression of who I am. With acting, it’s great because sometimes you’re, it has nothing to do with who you are, so you’re liberated by that. And I feel lucky that I’ve been able to support myself in this business for so many years.”

“I’m always singing for [husband Tom Hanks]!” she added. “Always, definitely!”
