Liza Minnelli, who won an Oscar back in 1973 for her work in Cabaret, is denying that she’s friends with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

The 74-year-old actress responded to a report that she has helped the former royal couple find their footing after moving to the Los Angeles area.

A report from The Sun said, “Liza reached out because she was close to Diana and offered her support.”

Well, Liza herself directly responded to the report that she had helped them out upon their move to the states.

“While I wish them well, I have never met Prince Harry and Meghan. Any statement to the contrary is a complete fabrication,” Liza posted on her personal Facebook page. There you have it!

Liza previously spoke about the movie Judy based on her mom’s life and she had no intention of seeing the film.

Liza Minnelli did not have much to say when asked about the movie Judy, which showcases her late mom Judy Garland in the year before her death at the age of 47 from an accidental overdose.

According to Variety, Liza told them she has no interest seeing the Renee Zellweger-led film.

The only statement Liza would make about the film was saying, “I hope [Zellweger] had a good time making it.”

Renee has been sweeping awards season for her work as the title character, winning the Golden Globe, SAG Award, BAFTA, and more. She’s nominated for an Oscar this weekend, and we’ll find out if she wins in just a matter of days.

Rob Lowe is sharing the cutest story about meeting Liza Minnelli when he was little!

The now 55-year-old Holiday in the Wild actor stopped by The Kelly Clarkson Show on Monday (January 13).

“I’m 10 years old, wanting to be a child actor and I’m living in Dayton, Ohio,” Rob told host Kelly Clarkson. “There is nothing happening, and it’s the mid ’70s.”

After spotting a luggage tag with Liza‘s name on it in a hotel lobby, Rob said, “I go to the front desk and I ask, ‘What room is Liza Minnelli in?’ And they tell me! What were they thinking? I was a 10-year-old boy! I just flat-out asked, and I went up and knocked on the door in the middle of the day.”

“It was the middle of the day and they [Liza and her then-husband Jack Haley Jr.] were in robes and eating chocolate and drinking red wine,” Rob continued. “[I said] ‘Hi, I’m Rob Lowe and I want to be an actor.’”

“She was awesome,” he added. “She invited me into the room. … She was so nice to me, and Liza was fascinated and wanted to know why I wanted to be an actor. She was awesome!”

“Now we are friends,” Rob Lowe said. “She’s the best.”

The upcoming biopic about Judy Garland does not have the approval of her daughter Liza Minnelli.

The 72-year-old Oscar-winner took to Facebook on Thursday (June 14) to reveal that she has no involvement in the upcoming movie starring Renee Zellweger as the iconic actress.

“I have never met nor spoken to Renee Zellweger… I don’t know how these stories get started, but I do not approve nor sanction the upcoming film about Judy Garland in any way. Any reports to the contrary are 100% Fiction,” Liza wrote along after it was reported that she and Renee have been meeting in regards to the movie.

For the past few months, Renee has been photographed looking just like Judy while filming in London.

The film follows Judy‘s final concerts in London, nearly 30 years after starring as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz before her death in June 1969.

Liza Minnelli has entered a Malibu rehab facility to deal with substance abuse, her rep confirms to JustJared.com.

The 69-year-old legendary actress, who won an Academy Award for her portrayal in the cinematic version of Cabaret, is reportedly making “excellent progress” at the treatment facility.

“Liza Minnelli has valiantly battled substance abuse over the years and whenever she has needed to seek treatment she has done so. She is currently making excellent progress at an undisclosed facility,” Liza‘s rep Scott Gorenstein said to JustJared.com in a statement.

Liza has been in the center for several days and her issue is reportedly due to alcohol.

Liza has been in rehab before, most recently in 2004, and her mother, the famous Judy Garland, also had issues with addiction.

Prior to the performance, Whoopi Goldberg recognized Judy‘s children – Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft, and Joey Luft – who reunited at the show.

Liza‘s father is Vincente Minnelli, who was Judy‘s second husband. Lorna and Joey are the children of her third husband and manager, Sid Luft. The three kids haven’t always gotten along in the past, but they are reportedly on good terms right now.
