Here's When 'Lucifer's Season Five Is Set to Return

Lucifer is finally returning to Netflix with new episodes.

TV Line reports that the fan favorite series will be back at the end of May on the streaming service.

Lucifer‘s season five first premiered in April of 2020 and aired eight episodes of the planned 16 episodes.

As the series picked up filming in September, following a total shutdown due to the pandemic, Netflix will be starting to air the second half of the season fairly shortly.

D.B. Woodside, who plays Amenadiel on the show, even teased what fans can expect in the remaining episodes, and the first few moments of episode nine.

“When God (Dennis Haysbert) comes, a lot of chaos is going to follow,” he shared. “We pick up literally two seconds from where we ended, and Amenadiel is absolutely humiliated that God saw him behaving the way that he was with his brothers because as the oldest, he’s really supposed to be the one that sets the example — and he was not doing that!”

Lucifer will end with season six, which is currently filming.

Netflix's 'Lucifer' Will Feature a Black Lives Matter Episode

Lucifer‘s upcoming season is set to feature an episode dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Entertainment Tonight reports that the hot series will tackle the timely topic in season six.

“When we got back to the [writers] room, we started looking at the fact that we’re a cop show and in what ways have we contributed or not addressed the systemic issues of the police department. And we decided we wanted to speak to it. So we’re actually doing a story that speaks directly to it, and we’re super excited about it,” executive producer Ildy Modrovich shared about the decision to include it.

She added that she does “feel nervous about it because I want to get it right.”

Ildy and co-executive producer Joe Henderson added that they took a while for this episode because it was a very important one to feature.

“We have a lot of voices in the room. We’re a pretty diverse room, so it’s taken a lot longer than most episodes to break because we have talked about everything. There have been many tears shed,” Ildy says. “I can just say everybody’s very passionate about it, so I think that’s what we’re doing to get it right. We’ll probably fine-tune it forever and be working on it until we shoot it.”

Joe continued, “We spoke to [the cast] about it and engaged them in that conversation as well. You might have noticed that our cast has been tweeting about it quite a bit. It’s very important to all of them too. D.B. [Woodside] was one of the people in particular that we really engaged with it — Lesley-Ann [Brandt], with Tom [Ellis]. Normally we pitch them their stories and a little bit of mythology, but this is a thing that almost all of them asked about, so we’ve listened to them and we’ve tried to make it as much of a conversation as possible and a listening exercise.”

Lucifer was renewed back in June for its final season and season five will be out this week!

'Lucifer' Star Tom Ellis Met George Clooney in a Women's Bathrobe!

Tom Ellis has a funny celebrity encounter story!

The 41-year-old Lucifer actor opened up in a new interview for Men’s Health. Here’s what he had to say…

On running into his style icon, George Clooney, at a hotel in Vancouver: “I had put on my ‘man Uggs,’ and I didn’t realize at the time, but I had put on a ‘her’ robe and not the ‘his’ robe from my room. I hit the elevator door and George Clooney is in the elevator on his own. He looks up and has the coolest sunglasses, and in my head, I’m just thinking ‘it wasn’t meant to be like this.’”

On his off-duty look: “I don the suit for my job, so any opportunity to not get dressed up, I’ll take it,” he says. “I’ve got about ten pairs of Paige jeans; they are the comfiest denim I’ve ever had in my life. And I just love a Henley. That’s my favorite thing to wear.”

On fans of Lucifer getting vindication after rumors of cancellation: “The nice thing about Netflix is that everyone is getting it all at the same time. I’ve been traveling around the world promoting the show and it really felt like this gaining traction and people were really watching it.”
