The evil stepsisters have been cast for the upcoming Cinderella movie!

Hairspray Live actress Maddie Baillio and Charlotte Spencer are joining Camila Cabello in the new retelling.

“Stick with me as I attempt to compose myself and a caption. I’m very pleased to announce I’ll have the honor of bringing *tricky stepsister, Malvolia, to life!! 🤯 Shoutout to my team of badass women (and John and Michael, equally amazing). Is it ok to call Idina Menzel mom? momma? mommy?” Maddie announced on Instagram.

Maddie and Charlotte join Idina Menzel, who will portray the evil stepmother. Billy Porter will play the Fairy Godmother.

It was recently announced that Pierce Brosnan joined the cast as The King, the father to Nicholas Galitzine‘s Prince Robert.

Dove Cameron and Famous in Love‘s Georgie Flores have joined Dumplin with Jennifer Aniston.

Deadline reports that the flick will focus on Willowdean (Danielle Macdonald), nicknamed Dumplin, a confident, plus-sized teen who, to spite her beauty pageant queen mom (Aniston), enlists in a local pageant.

What starts as an impulsive one-day protest snowballs as Will inadvertently becomes the inspiration for a ragtag group of teenage outcasts joining the pageant.

Luke Benward, Maddie Baillio, Bex Taylor–Klaus and Ginger Minj will also star in the movie.

Kristin Chenoweth and Dove Cameron sandwich in their much taller co-star Jennifer Hudson while attending the Hairspray Live! For Your Consideration event held at the Saban Media Center on Friday (June 9) in North Hollywood.

The ladies were joined at the event by their co-stars Maddie Baillio, Garrett Clayton, Ephraim Sykes, Shahidi Wright Joseph, and original Hairspray star Ricki Lake.

The cast of the NBC live special is hoping to secure some Emmy nominations for the production!

One of the highlights of Hairspray Live! was definitely Ephraim Sykes‘ performance of “Run And Tell That,” which you can watch right here!

He was joined by the ensemble cast, which included Maddie Baillio, Garrett Clayton, and Shahidi Wright Joseph.

Starring Ephraim‘s Seaweed J. Stubbs, the song confronts prejudice and celebrates the value of diversity. Watch the full video below!

One of the most special moments of the night during Hairspray Live was when three different Tracy Turnblads united during “Welcome to the 60s.”

Ricki Lake, who played the role in the 1988 movie, and Marissa Jaret Winokur, who played the role in the 2002 Broadway musical, made a special appearance in the song alongside Maddie Baillio, who is playing the role in the NBC live production.

“Welcome to the 60s” is a song that features Tracy getting her mom Edna (Harvey Fierstein) out of the house to experience what the world is like during the 1960s.

Ariana Grande kicked off her Hairspray Live! performance with an ensemble number of “Mama I’m a Big Girl Now,” which you can watch right here!

She was joined by co-stars Dove Cameron and Maddie Baillio as they sung about their respective parents.

The song first appeared in the 2002 theatrical musical, despite being left for the end credits of the 2007 film adaptation.
