Julia Garner got married to Foster the People frontman Mark Foster at the end of 2019 and they spent their first year of marriage stuck inside during the pandemic.

The 26-year-old Emmy-winning actress opened up to WSJ. Magazine about what it’s like to be newly married in the pandemic.

“Honestly, it’s been great. We’ve been really lucky. We know people who’ve had Covid but no one [who] got it [and] had to go to the hospital,” Julia said in the interview. “My husband is a musician and he was supposed to go on tour. We were both going to be super busy after we just got married. Now I understand why people have to have honeymoons. We were not going to do that. We were just going to go straight to work, but we got time together at home. We had a really nice, really long honeymoon.”

Julia also opened up about what she’s been watching this year.

“We started watching the NXIVM doc [The Vow]. It’s so crazy. All those volleyball things, I don’t know why, I think it’s kind of funny. Every episode’s like, ‘So I went to go meet Keith. We were playing volleyball. We met at the volleyball court.’ Volleyball’s really random,” she said.

Julia Garner just picked up her second Emmy in just two years!

The 26-year-old actress won the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series during the 2020 Emmy Awards, which aired on Sunday night (September 20).

Julia won for her work on Ozark and she also won in the same category last year. She accepted the award at home while sitting next to her husband Mark Foster, the lead singer of the band Foster the People.

“Wow, first, I’m shocked, to be honest,” Julia said while beginning her speech. “I want to show gratitude to all the women in this category. You are the reason why I’m acting in the first place, so thank you.”

Julia ended the speech by encouraging fans to “try to find light at the end of this tunnel” during this difficult time for the world.

Julia Garner and her husband Mark Foster fill their car up with groceries after shopping together at Whole Foods on Thursday (April 23) in Studio City, Calif.

The married couple stocked up on groceries and they were seen wearing masks and gloves while leaving the store.

Julia, 26, stars on the Netflix series Ozark and she won an Emmy for her performance as Ruth Langmore last year. The third season of the show was recently released and she has been the number one celebrity on iMDBpro’s Star Meter for weeks now.

You can also see Julia in the series Waco, which was recently added to Netflix. Her movie The Assistant will also be available for streaming on Hulu on April 28.

Mark, 36, is the lead singer of the band Foster the People.

Julia Garner and Mark Foster have shared the first official photo from their wedding!

The 25-year-old Ozark actress and the 35-year-old Foster the People frontman both took to Instagram to share a black-and-white photo taken by photographer Andy Barron.

“12/27/19 💍,” the newlyweds post captioned the photo of them sitting in the backseat of a taxi. It was also revealed that Julia wore a Danielle Frankel wedding dress.

Designer Zac Posen revealed that Julia and Mark had gotten married after sharing several photos from their wedding.

Zac Posen shared a few photos from the wedding reception on his Instagram Story, including a video of the two slow dancing together.

“Congratulations @juliagarner94 and @mistersmims 🕊💫,” he captioned one photo, posing with the stars in another shot.

The two got engaged back in May of 2019. Congratulations to the happy couple!

Former Crazy Rich Asians co-stars Constance Wu and Awkwafina walk the carpet together at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s 2019 Patron of the Artists Awards on Thursday (November 7) at the Wallis Annenberg Center of the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, Calif.

The two actresses presented together during the event. Other presenters included Olivia Wilde, Paul Rudd, Julia Garner (with fiance Mark Foster), David Harbour, Laurence Fishburne, and Willem Dafoe.

During the event, SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s President Emeritus JoBeth Williams was presented with a tribute award for her decade of service and her successor Courtney B. Vance was introduced. He was joined at the event by wife Angela Bassett.

Other event attendees included Kevin Zegers, Emeraude Toubia, and Sex and the City‘s Jason Lewis with longtime love Liz Godwin.

The four honorees at the event this year were Jennifer Aniston, Mark Ruffalo, Greg Berlanti, and Ava DuVernay.

The 25-year-old Ozark and Dirty John actress showed off her engagement ring from the 35-year-old Foster the People‘s lead singer while attending the Dirty John FYL Panel on Thursday night (May 3) in Los Angeles.

“They got engaged last week when they were in Yellowstone,” a source told People.

The couple was in Montana at the end of April where they visited the Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park.
