Here’s a synopsis of the highly anticipated movie: “Following the rise of Aretha Franklin’s career from a child singing in her father’s church’s choir to her international superstardom, Respect is the remarkable true story of the music icon’s journey to find her voice.”
The 48-year-old actor and producer made an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Tuesday (October 19), guest-hosted by the 40-year-old Girl’s Trip star.
The two have been friends for a long time, and reminisced about the first time that they met in their teens. She also decided to ask him why he’s never cast her in any of his movies during his appearance.
“I know you love me…I have auditioned for so many of your movies. Why do I never get cast?” she said.
“Here’s what happens: me and my family always say you’re funny. You were always funny. But you was always on 10. Sometimes you just be inappropriate. It’s like a love scene, but you want to sit on the actor’s lap and fart. Like, no, Tiffany. It’s not for this scene…maturation hit you,” he explained.
The 47-year-old actor will be starring in the upcoming romantic buddy-cop action comedy titled Ride or Die, THR reports.
Marlon will also be co-writing the script with Rick Alvarez.
Here’s the synopsis for Ride or Die: “The story centers on robbery detective Martin Banks (Wayans), a consummate professional, and narcotics detective and unapologetic butt-kicker Tami Moore. Sparks and bullets fly when these opposites are partnered to track down a billion-dollar cache of deadly opioids stolen from the vault of a multinational pharmaceutical company that threaten to flood the streets of Chicago.”
Marlon is describing the movie as When Harry Met Sally… with guns.
