The show is actually based on the book by the same name, which was written by “Big Little Lies” author Liane Moriarty.
Here’s a synopsis of the book: Nine people gather at a remote health resort. Some are here to lose weight, some are here to get a reboot on life, some are here for reasons they can’t even admit to themselves. Amidst all of the luxury and pampering, the mindfulness and meditation, they know these ten days might involve some real work. But none of them could imagine just how challenging the next ten days are going to be.
Nicole will play the resort’s director, with Melissa set to portray one of the strangers named Francis, Variety reports.
Melissa McCarthy teamed up with Allison Janney for a hilarious sketch during her guest host spot on last night’s (December 18) episode of The Late Late Show!
The Bridesmaids co-stars filmed a sketch presenting “cut” scenes from the most buzzed-about movies releasing for the 2019 holiday season, including Cats, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and Little Women.
Melissa and Allison sing a Andrew Lloyd Webber-esque unoriginal tune decked out in Cats-inspired outfits, and even fight with lightsabers for their “cut” Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker scene.

The 49-year-old star of the upcoming film Superintelligence stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show (her 20th appearance!) for an episode airing on Tuesday (September 10).
Ellen put Melissa’s acting skills to the test when she sent her to Milt & Edie’s Drycleaners in Burbank, Calif., for a hilarious hidden camera prank.
During her appearance, Melissa also revealed that she had a painting made of herself and her husband, Ben Falcone, as melancholy clowns for their anniversary, which they’ll hang up in their home against their daughter’s wishes. Ellen DeGeneres also surprised Melissa McCarthy with a clown painting of herself to add to their collection.
Host James asked the 48-year-old actress about meeting her The Kitchen co-star Elisabeth, 37, for the first time, and Melissa admitted she expected someone far more intimidating, possibly harnessing super powers.
“Not what my first impression was but more of what I thought and geared myself up for. I’m sure like everyone, I’m a pretty weird fan of Elisabeth and everything she’s ever done so I was like, ‘it’s going to be intense’,” Melissa recalled. “I was like, ‘it’s going to be intense, I’m going to try and not make a full of myself, I want to keep up and I’m going to be super prepared. I did have an image of her walking into a room being like ‘I am Elisabeth Moss’ with just like flames in the background.”
“She’s not like that at all,” Melissa assured. “We got along right away and she’s a great enabler.”
Melissa McCarthy also talked about her annual challenge to make elaborate birthday cakes — and judging by the photos, she lacks in design skills.
