The latest saga in the Fast & Furious franchise is nearly upon us!
F9 is hitting theaters on June 25.
Here’s a plot summary for the ninth installment in the series: “Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto is leading a quiet life off the grid with Letty and his son, little Brian, but they know that danger always lurks just over their peaceful horizon. This time, that threat will force Dom to confront the sins of his past if he’s going to save those he loves most. His crew joins together to stop a world-shattering plot led by the most skilled assassin and high-performance driver they’ve ever encountered: a man who also happens to be Dom’s forsaken brother, Jakob (John Cena).
It’s also unclear which roles Michelle and Justice will be playing, deals have been closed in the flick, which will be directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, and produced and financed by Hasbro/eOne and Paramount.
If you’re unfamiliar, Dungeons & Dragons is a fantasy tabletop role-playing game and lets you create mighty heroes to battle monsters, solve puzzles, and reap rewards.
The world is built from war games, treasure hunts, camaraderie and reversals of fortune, and features creatures of human nature, elves, orcs and hundreds of others.
The 42-year-old actress made an appearance on SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, hosted by SiriusXM’s Chief Entertainment Anchor Jess Cagle and co-host Julia Cunningham.
When asked if she was heading to space with Ludacris, who also teased the space venture in the upcoming sequel, she said “Oh, no way. How did you guys find that out? See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man. When a movie doesn’t come out and forget about it, things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that!”
“Oh, well, no, I’m not, I’m not, I’m not lucky enough to hit space, but we did get a female writer and showed a lot of love, I think, on this one. Thanks to, you know, thanks to Justin Lin. We were able to, to find a little bit more attention and love for the girls in the movie. And so I’m really hopeful that that, that shows through in the final product,” she continued to explain.
“My necessity to have a female writer was just really more about candor. I think of that a lot of the boys just always like one dimensionalized all the females. So it’s like, if Mia is on screen, they’ll think, ‘Oh, she’s the mother of the kid with the Paul Walker character. So we need to stick to the motherly stuff whenever she speaks’ or they’ll be like, ‘Oh, look, we have Natalie, she’s the amazing young, sexy creature, a new, so like let’s always have the boys hitting on her,’” she said.
“Um, or like with me, ‘Oh yeah, the Michelle Letty character. She’s always like, you know, alpha and angry and ready to kick some ass. So like, let’s just make her angry every time she’s on screen’ and it just doesn’t work. It’s not natural. And I think that you need a female voice to understand that.”
“Though it has been eighteen years since we lived together on the North Shore of Oahu, no matter where we are in life or however many years pass, the love between us will always remain,” Kate says of the reunion.
The film followed a hardcore surfer girl preparing for a big competition, as she finds herself falling for a football player.
Through this reunion, Kate and her costars are spreading positivity and kindness (the main motto of Kate’s new site, KIND.EST.) The reunion is in support of the Surfrider Foundation, where people can help protect the world’s ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.
“The girls are back in town! Watch me, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sanoe Lake reveal what really happened behind-the-scenes…18 years later. The most epic reunion, from the beloved cult classic. You won’t want to miss,” Kate said.
Kate recently opened up about the industry’s initial perception of herself. See what she said!
