Keiynan was honored with the Screen Australia Breakthrough Award, Hannah with the Create NSW Annette Kellerman Award, and Damon with the Qantas Orry-Kelly Award, which celebrates an Australian who has contributed to the national identity with their body of work.

Monica Lewinsky abruptly ended an interview and Q&A in Jerusalem, Israel when she was asked an “off limits” question, and the moment is going viral.

Monica is now explaining what happened during her interview on stage with Israeli TV news anchor Yonit Levi of Hadashot News.

“Recently in an interview in NBC News, former President Clinton was rather irate when he was asked if he’d ever apologized to you personally. He said he apologized publicly. Do you still expect that apology?” Yonit asked Monica, to which Monica responded, “I’m so sorry. I’m not going to be able to do this.” (You can watch Monica walk off stage here).

Later, Monica posted on social media, explaining why she left the stage.

“After a talk today on the perils and positives of the Internet, there was to be a 15 minute conversation to follow up on the subject of my speech (not a news interview). There were clear parameters about what we would be discussing and what we would not. In fact, the exact question the interviewer asked first, she had put to me when we met the day prior. I said that was off limits. When she asked me it on stage, with blatant disregard for our agreement, it became clear to me I had been misled. I left because it is more important than ever for women to stand up for themselves and not allow others to control their narrative. To the audiences: I’m very sorry that this talk had to end this way,” Monica tweeted.

Aisha Tyler is explaining why she’s over Bill Clinton.

The 47-year-old Unapologetic with Aisha Tyler host made an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday (July 1).

During her appearance, Aisha addressed why she “broke up” with Bill Clinton over his recent comments.

“I broke up with Bill Clinton a couple weeks ago, officially. He came out and said he didn’t owe Monica Lewinsky an apology in the context of the #MeToo movement…it wasn’t that you fooled around with her that was the problem. It was that you lied about it. You denied that she existed, and she got shunted to the side over something you knew you did,” Aisha said.

“Don’t apologize for cheating. We already tried that in the court of public opinion…we need to change that women suffer for what men do,” she went on to explain.

“Every time there’s an affair, it’s always about that hussy, that homebreaker. She didn’t make a promise. You made a promise. You broke a promise. You take that blame.”

Bill Clinton is under fire for some comments made during an interview on NBC’s Today show.

Part of the discussion was centered around the Monica Lewinsky scandal, and how Clinton stayed in the White House after the controversy.

“A lot of the facts have been conveniently omitted to make the story work, I think partly because they’re frustrated that they got all these serious allegations against the current occupant of the Oval Office and his voters don’t seem to care,” Clinton said, referring to allegations made against Donald Trump. “I think I did the right thing [by staying in office]. I defended the Constitution.”

When asked if he owed Monica an apology, he said, “No, I do not — I have never talked to her. But I did say publicly on more than one occasion that I was sorry. That’s very different. The apology was public.”

He then added that he doesn’t think the #MeToo movement would have changed his response at all.

“I don’t think it would be an issue because people would be using the facts instead of the imagined facts,” he said.

In the age of #MeToo and Time’s Up, Monica Lewinsky is once again reflecting on her infamous scandal with former President Bill Clinton while working as a White House intern.

“As I find myself reflecting on what happened, I’ve also come to understand how my trauma has been, in a way, a microcosm of a larger, national one. Both clinically and observationally, something fundamental changed in our society in 1998, and it is changing again as we enter the second year of the Trump presidency in a post-Cosby-Ailes-O’Reilly-Weinstein-Spacey-Whoever-Is-Next world,” the 44-year-old social activist writes in a new essay for Vanity Fair‘s March 2018 issue, hitting newsstands on March 6.

“Given my PTSD and my understanding of trauma, it’s very likely that my thinking would not necessarily be changing at this time had it not been for the #MeToo movement—not only because of the new lens it has provided but also because of how it has offered new avenues toward the safety that comes from solidarity.”

“I now see how problematic it was that the two of us even got to a place where there was a question of consent. Instead, the road that led there was littered with inappropriate abuse of authority, station, and privilege.”

She also explains that one of the women leading the #MeToo movement reached out to her personally and wrote: “I’m so sorry you were so alone.”

“Somehow, coming from her—a recognition of sorts on a deep, soulful level—they landed in a way that cracked me open and brought me to tears.”
