Oscar Isaac Officially Confirmed as Star of Marvel's 'Moon Knight'

Oscar Isaac is officially taking on another role in the MCU!

The 42-year-old actor, who has been long rumored to be in talks with Marvel, will officially board Disney+‘s series Moon Knight, the company confirmed on Thursday (May 27).

“‘WE ARE MOONKNIGHT’ – Oscar Isaac,” Marvel tweeted, a nod to the fact that his character in the series, elite soldier and mercenary Marc Spector, has multiple personalities, developed after he becomes the embodiment of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon.

Ethan Hawke Joins Marvel's 'Moon Knight' Series as Lead Villain

Ethan Hawke is joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe!

The four-time Oscar-nominated actor will be joining the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series Moon Knight, according to THR.

While not much is known about Ethan‘s role as of now, he will reportedly be playing the series’ lead villain. There is already speculation that he could be playing a character named Bushman.

Oscar Isaac will be playing the title role and Ramy actress May Calamawy has also landed a part in the series. The show will begin filming in March in Budapest.

WandaVision, which is the first Marvel series for Disney+, just premiered on the streaming service. When that show is finished airing, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will premiere soon after. Other Marvel shows on the horizon include Loki, Hawkeye, and Ms. Marvel.

Ramy's May Calamawy Joins Disney+ Series 'Moon Knight' Opposite Oscar Isaac

May Calamawy has joined the upcoming Moon Knight series from Disney+.

The 34-year-old actress, who is best known for her work on Ramy, will star with Oscar Isaac in the Marvel adaptation, The Hollywood Reporter revealed.

Moon Knight centers on an ex-Marine-turned-mercenary, played by Oscar, with multiple alter egos to being a conduit to conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu, to most recently a dapper-dressed consultant. Learn more about the series here…

Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab has signed on as showrunner with Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directing a few episodes of the series.

Filming is expected to start filming in Budapest in March.
