Neil Gaiman's Latest GoodReads Pick Is a Dig at Estranged Wife Amanda Palmer (Update: He Was Hacked!)

Neil Gaiman seems to be making a dig at his estranged wife Amanda Palmer with the latest selection on his GoodReads account.

The 59-year-old “American Gods” author is currently quarantining away from Amanda, 44, while they deal with marital problems. Earlier in the week, they both were very public about what is going on right now in their marriage.

Well, it seems Neil is getting ready for divorce based on what he’s reading.

Neil updated his GoodReads account to show that he’s reading the book “Splitting: Protecting Yourself While Divorcing Someone with Borderline or Narcissistic Personality Disorder.”

It looks like Neil has removed the selection from his account, but fans of course took screenshots before that happened. See below.

UPDATE: Neil posted a blog to his GoodReads account and said, “Someone with a dark sense of humour just hacked this account. (I suppose that’s what I get for leaving it here and not doing anything for a long time.)”

Neil Gaiman & Amanda Palmer Split While in Quarantine After 10 Years of Marriage

Neil Gaiman and Amanda Palmer have broken up while in quarantine in New Zealand.

The longtime couple both announced the split on social media and they revealed that Neil has moved to the UK.

“Since people are getting confused and asking and my phone and inbox is blowing up with ‘where‘s Neil?’ a few times a minute … I can only gather that he’s finally told the internet that he’s left New Zealand, and I thought I would come here with a short note,” Amanda wrote on her Patreon page on Sunday (via Page Six).

Neil moved to the UK, my heart has been broken, and I am really struggling,” she added. “I’m still in lockdown here in New Zealand with 4-year-old [son] Ash for the foreseeable future.”

After Amanda wrote her statement, Neil took to Twitter on Monday to share his side of the story.

“I see @amandapalmer has told people that we (like much of the world) are going through rocky times right now. It is true, we are. It’s really hard, and I’d like to request privacy (as I’m not going to be talking about it publicly) and kindness, for us and for Ash,” he wrote.

Neil is a beloved author and the co-creator of Good Omens and American Gods. Amanda is a musician. They tied the knot back in 2010 and share a four-year-old son named Ash.
