Neve Campbell Was Apprehensive To Join 'Scream 5' For This Reason

“I’m excited to get back to it. I’m excited to see Courteney [Cox] and David [Arquette]. I’m excited to see this young new cast. I’m excited to work with these new directors,” Neve shared while appearing on The Talk this week.

Neve does admit she “had been apprehensive because, you know, our director, our incredible director Wes Craven passed away, and I wasn’t sure about doing a film without him.”

“But the new directors came to me with this beautiful letter saying that they’ve become directors and love film because of these films, and because of Wes, and they really want to be true to his story and his journey with these films. So, I was really happy to hear that,” she added.

Sabrina Carpenter's Movie 'Clouds' Is Going Directly to Disney+

Clouds, the upcoming movie from director Justin Baldoni and starring Sabrina Carpenter, will go directly to Disney+ instead of getting a theatrical release.

The streaming service has bought the rights to the inspirational drama, marking the first narrative film acquisition for the Disney+ Global Content team.

Clouds is the true story of Zach Sobiech, a musically gifted 17-year old living with a rare bone cancer (osteosarcoma). The film follows Zach’s journey over the course of his senior year as he navigates the complexities of love, friendship, family and leaving behind a musical legacy.

The film stars newcomer Fin Argus as Zach Sobiech, Sabrina as his best friend and bandmate Sammy, Madison Iseman as Zach’s girlfriend Amy, and Thomas Everett Scott and Neve Campbell as his parents, Laura and Rob.

“I fell in love with Zach’s infectious joy and spirit seven years ago when I made a short documentary about his life. Just before he passed, I made a promise to him that I would do whatever I could to make sure the world heard his music,” Justin said in a statement. “In the age of COVID-19, with the future of the theatre business up in the air, it was extremely important to me to ensure Zach’s message of hope, faith and triumph in the face of adversity truly had the opportunity to touch as many hearts around the world as possible. That’s why I’m so excited to be partnering with Disney+ for my first film under our Wayfarer Studios banner, as it’s the perfect home and platform to bring Zach’s incredible story to the world.”

Clouds will be released on Disney+ in the fall.
