Natalie Portman Calls Out Double Standard Concerning Gender & Behavior (Video)

Natalie Portman stops by Build Series to discuss her new movie Lucy in the Sky with director/writer/producer Noah Hawley and her co-star Jon Hamm!

The trio teamed up to promote the film on Wednesday (October 2) in New York City.

During their appearance, Natalie talked about an emotional scene in the movie and how a woman can be reprimanded for the same traits that are praised in a man.

“The same behavior can be categorized completely differently between men and women, and that’s sort of what happens in the movie,” she said. “These guys are all daredevils. The first men who went to space, they agreed to strap themselves to a bomb. … They’re all so brilliant, scientists and pilots and engineers, but they also were daredevils.”

Natalie continued, “Then when she does something that’s kind of daredevil … she’s reprimanded for it as being reckless. So you see that … the same qualities that might be celebrated in one might be put down in another gender.”

“So she is losing it, it but it’s also kind of a normal reaction to lose it when you’re facing injustice,” Natalie added.

'Legion' Creator Teases the Final Season at WonderCon

Aubrey Plaza and Dan Stevens walk the red carpet for the Legion panel during 2019 WonderCon on Friday (March 29) in Anaheim, Calif.

Also in attendance at the panel were co-stars Rachel Keller, Navid Negahban, Amber Midthunder, Jeremie Harris, Lauren Tsai, creator Noah Hawley, and executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner.

Noah opened up about the third season of Legion being the last one.

“Obviously it’s bittersweet, but a story has no meaning without its ending,” he said (via Gamespot). “And the old paradigm of television was, major corporations don’t usually do a mic drop after a success–you have to keep going, and there’s something about being allowed to tell a story, where the length of the show is dictated by the length of the story, that makes television better.”

FYI: Aubrey is wearing a Galvan dress and Brian Atwood shoes.

Chris Rock Will Star in 'Fargo' Season 4 on FX

Chris Rock has landed a starring role in season four of Fargo, marking his first TV series regular job in almost a decade.

FX made the announcement on Friday (August 3) at the TCA press tour, Variety reports.

The fourth season of the limited series will begin production next year and is set to premiere next year as well.

Focusing on “immigration and assimilation and the things we do for money,” season four will take place in 1950 in Kansas City, Mo., “where two criminal syndicates — one Italian, one African-American — have struck an uneasy peace. To cement their peace, the heads of both families have traded their eldest sons.”

The 53-year-old comedian will portray “the head of one of the syndicates, who has surrendered his son to his enemy, and who must raise his son’s enemy as his own. But then the head of the Kansas City mafia goes into the hospital for routine surgery and dies — and everything changes.”

Creator Noah Hawley will return as showrunner, writer, and director.

“I’m a fan of Fargo and I can’t wait to work with Noah,” Chris said.
