Halle Bailey & Jonah Hauer-King Seem to Be Filming Iconic 'Little Mermaid' Scene in These New Set Photos!

We have our first photos of Halle Bailey and Jonah Hauer-King on The Little Mermaid set together!

The two co-stars, who play Ariel the Mermaid and Prince Eric, were seen shooting what appears to be an iconic scene on Tuesday (June 29) in Sardinia, Italy. Noma Dumezweni was also seen on set that day.

We cannot confirm, but fans seem to think the pair may have been filming “Kiss the Girl,” one of the famous scenes from the original Disney movie! “Kiss the Girl” happens when Prince Eric and Ariel go for a romantic boat ride together. The song is famously sung by Sebastian the Crab.

Jonah Hauer-King & Noma Dumezweni Seen for First Time on 'Little Mermaid' Set

The first images of Noma Dumezweni and Jonah Hauer-King on the set of the live action The Little Mermaid movie are finally here!

The photos were taken on Monday (June 21) in Sardinia, Italy and show many other cast members as well, including extras, and presumably, stunt doubles. Jonah is portraying Prince Eric and Noma is portraying a brand new role, Carlotta, made just for this film. Emily Coates and Jessica Alexander also appear to be filming alongside them as well.

Earlier this week, we also saw some of the first photos of Halle Bailey, who is portraying Ariel in the film, on set and filming! Be sure to check out all of those photos as well if you haven’t already seen them!

A few years back, another actor actually slammed Jonah‘s casting in the movie.

The 2021 Gotham Awards Had an In-Person Event with Some Celebrity Attendees - See Red Carpet Pics!

The 2021 Gotham Awards took place on Monday night (January 11) and there was an in-person ceremony that had some celebrity attendees.

While most of the stars appeared at the awards show virtually, a handful of stars walked the red carpet and presented on stage at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The stars in attendance included Euphoria‘s Hunter Schafer, Hamilton‘s Renee Elise Goldsberry, Palm SpringsCristin Milioti, Oscar nominee Michael Shannon, The Undoing‘s Noma Dumezweni, Moonlight‘s Andre Holland, and Top Chef‘s Padma Lakshmi.

Celebrity guests at the event sat at their own individual tables and they were served FIJI Water and wine from Robert Hall Winery.

The Undoing's Noma Dumezweni Joins 'Little Mermaid' in a New Role!

Actress Noma Dumezweni, who is well known for her work on HBO’s recent hit The Undoing, has joined the cast of The Little Mermaid movie, Deadline reports.

Interestingly enough, the role that Noma will be playing is a brand new role that is new to the universe! While Noma‘s casting has been revealed as a new character, no other details were made available. Stay tuned as we find out more about the mystery role!

The live action version of the film, which stars Halle Bailey as Ariel, is being directed by Rob Marshall, and features songs from the original film as well as new songs from composer Alan Menken and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Noma is also very well known for originating the role of Hermione Granger in the West End and Broadway runs of Harry Potter and The Cursed Child. Her portrayal earned her a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and a Tony Award nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play.

Harry Potter's Noma Dumezweni & Katie Leung Respond After J.K. Rowling's Tweets

Two Harry Potter actresses – Katie Leung and Noma Dumezweni – are responding to J.K. Rowling‘s controversial tweets about transgender people.

The famed author tweeted her frustration after an article wrote that “gender non-binary persons menstruate.”

J.K. then reposted the article, and added her own commentary, “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud? She wrote further tweets that have been called out as transphobic.

Katie played the role of Cho Chang in the Harry Potter films, while Noma played the role of Hermoine in the stage play Harry Potter & the Cursed Child.

Harry Potter's Nominated Actors Attend the Tony Awards 2018

The stars of the new play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child walk the red carpet at the 2018 Tony Awards held at Radio City Music Hall on Sunday (June 10) in New York City.

Jamie Parker, who was joined by wife Deborah Crowe, is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for playing the adult Harry Potter.

Noma Dumezweni is nominated for Best Performance by a Featured Actress in a Play for playing adult Hermione Granger.

Anthony Boyle is up for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play for playing Scorpius Malfoy, the son of Draco Malfoy.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is nominated for ten awards, including Best Play.

FYI: Anthony is wearing Alexander McQueen. Noma is wearing a Brandon Maxwell dress. Deborah is wearing a Adrianna Papell gown.

Andrew Garfield & Denise Gough Celebrate at Tony Honors Cocktail Party

Andrew Garfield and Denise Gough brought Angels in America to the Tony Honors Cocktail Party!

The co-stars hit the red carpet at the event on Monday night (June 5) at the Sofitel Hotel in New York City.

They were also joined by their other cast mates Nathan Lane and Susan Brown.

Other attendees included Children of a Lesser God‘s Lauren Ridloff, Lobby Hero‘s Brian Tyree Henry and Harry Potter‘s Anthony Boyle and Noma Dumezweni.

During the event, the Tony Honors For Excellence In The Theatre was presented and Special Award recipients were honored.

The Tony Awards take place on June 10th.
