Olivia Jade Looks Back On Being 'Publicly Shamed' After Mom Lori Loughlin's College Admissions Scandal

Olivia Jade is opening up and looking back on her life experiences following her parents, Lori Loughlin and Massimo Giannulli, being involved in the college admissions scandal.

The 21-year-old influencer shared a life lesson she learned in the wake of the controversy, which sent Lori and Massimo to jail.

In a TikTok, Olivia said that the lesson came from a “very inspirational woman.”

“We were talking about being publicly shamed and I was like, ‘Well, my situation doesn’t even compare, I’m not even going to start to compare it to yours,’” she recalled. “And she looked at me and said, ‘Olivia, it doesn’t matter if I’m drowning in 60 ft. of water and you’re drowning in 30, we’re both still drowning.’”

She adds, “I think about that quote every day because it’s so true and such a bigger message to our world right now. I think we’re all very quick to judge. I think we’re all very quick to put people down.”

“It’s important for people to know “if your feelings are hurting [and] if they’re valid to you, they’re valid,” Olivia went on. “It doesn’t matter if someone is going through worse, you’re allowed to have a hard time in this world,” she went on. “But that doesn’t take away from somebody else, and that shouldn’t take away from you. We’re all human beings.”

Lori was released from a federal prison after completing a two-month sentence for paying a $500,000 bribe in order to gain her daughters’ admission into UCLA. Massimo is currently still serving his five-month sentence.

Just a few months ago, Olivia broke her silence on the scandal and talked about the role she played in all of it during an interview on Red Table Talk.

“I don’t mean to say that in a dismissive way or a pretentious way Just for my own mental sanity, I don’t want to keep rehashing things,” Olivia wrote in the video’s description. “I just want to move on and do better and move forward and come back and do what I love, which is YouTube. Jada Pinkett Smith's Mom Adrienne Talks Olivia Jade's 'Frustrating' Interview on 'Red Table Talk'

Adrienne Banfield-Norris is sharing her feelings on her recent Red Table Talk interview with Olivia Jade.

Earlier this month, the 21-year-old daughter of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli appeared on the Facebook Watch series, which the 67-year-old co-hosts with daughter Jada Pinkett Smith and granddaughter Willow Smith.

During her appearance, Olivia discussed her parents’ involvement in the college admissions scandal. If you didn’t know, Lori and Mossimo are currently both in prison.

While appearing on the Keep It podcast, Adrienne admitted that the interview was “frustrating.”

“It was frustrating, but at the end of the day, I felt like people understood how I felt,” Adrienne explained. “There were some things about it that were a little frustrating. I felt like as a 21-year-old young adult, that she needed to be way more aware of what’s going on in the world, and that was a little frustrating.”

Adrienne continued: “I heard people make comments, like, ‘Well, kids don’t watch the news.’ Please. The news on TV is not the only place where you understand what’s going on with the world and if you think that then you’re old! Because young people are not relying on the news — my generation is not relying on the news. I’m on my phone, on social media all the time.”

Adrienne then went on to say that she feels that Olivia still has a lot of learning to do.

“There’s just a lot of education she needs to do for herself,” Adrienne said. “But I understand that that’s the world they’re in. Her life experiences have not put her in the space where she needs to be concerned about those kinds of things, really. I don’t really know how to address that because it is about how you’re raised and what you’re exposed to.”
