Paul Dano has signed on to play a reimagined version of Steven Spielberg‘s father in the film loosely based on the director’s life.

THR notes that the character will be based on his dad but “with a separate and original voice.”

If you don’t know, Spielberg is working with screenwriter Tony Kushner on turning his life into a movie. He will also direct the film, which is expected to begin filming this summer and be released in 2022. Fun fact: Spielberg hasn’t written a screenplay since 2001′s A.I.: Artificial Intelligence.

Seth Rogen will play Steven‘s uncle and Michelle Williams will play Steven‘s mom.

Paul Dano is taking on one of Gotham’s most notorious villains in The Batman!

The 35-year-old actor is set to play The Riddler in the upcoming film, also starring Robert Pattinson in the title role with Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, THR reports.

There were rumors that Jonah Hill might be in talks to play either The Riddler or Penguin in the film, but he ended up turning down the unspecified role.

The film is currently set for release on June 25, 2021.

Jim Carrey famously played The Riddler in the 1995 film Batman Forever.

Ben Stiller hits the purple carpet as he arrives at the 2019 Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22) at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

The 53-year-old actor and director looked handsome in a navy suit as he celebrated his nominated series Escape at Dannemora at the awards show.

Escape at Dannemora stars also in attendance included Paul Dano and wife Zoe Kazan, Benicio Del Toro, and Eric Lange.

The series is nominated for seven awards tonight including Outstanding Limited Series.

Jake Gyllenhaal looks so handsome while all suited up on the red carpet at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s 50th Anniversary Gala on Monday (April 29) at Alice Tully Hall in New York City.

Also in attendance at the event were Tilda Swinton as well as Jake‘s Wildlife filmmakers Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan.

Some directors who were in attendance included Dee Rees with partner Sarah M. Broom, John Waters, Darren Aronofsky, and Michael Moore.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center just rebranded to become just “Film at Lincoln Center.”

Paul Dano flashes a smile alongside his co-star Ethan Hawke while attending the opening night party for the Broadway revival of True West held at the American Airlines Theatre on Thursday (January 24) in New York City.

The 34-year-old actor and Ethan, 48, were joined at the event by their co-stars Marylouise Burke, Gary Wilmes, Adam Greer, Anne Lange and Alex Mickiewicz, as well as directer by James Macdonald.

In True West, two brothers—one, a moderately successful screenwriter (Dano), the other, a drifter (Hawke) reunite in their mother’s California home, leading to the airing of old resentments and some unexpected twists in the relationship.

The production of Sam Shepard‘s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play is scheduled for a limited engagement through March 17.

The 34-year-old Wildlife actor and the 48-year-old Blaze star joined forces at the event held at Roundabout Rehearsal Studio on Wednesday (December 05) in New York City.

Here’s the official synopsis: “Opposites attack in Sam Shepard’s Pulitzer Prize-nominated play about two brothers with more in common than they think. Holed up in their mother’s California house, lowlife Lee (Ethan) and screenwriter Austin (Paul) wrestle with big issues—and each other. Order vs. chaos. Art vs. commerce. Typewriter vs. toaster…Sam’s rip-roaring classic returns to Broadway, gleefully detonating our misguided myths of family, identity and the American Dream.”

The first preview will take place on December 27, and opening night is set for January 24, 2019.
