'Crash' Filmmaker Paul Haggis Denies Sexual Misconduct Allegations

Paul Haggis is speaking out to deny the recent sexual misconduct charges made against him.

Last month, a publicist filed a civil lawsuit against the 64-year-old award-winning filmmaker and an additional three women just came forward with their own allegations, including rape.

Paul is denying these claims, claiming they are trying to harm him and obtain money.

“No one has reached out to anyone on Mr. Haggis‘ team other than the press to report this. He views the fact that these reports appear to be spearheaded from the law-firm representing Ms. Breest, as a further tactic to try to harm him and continue their effort to obtain money. Mr. Haggis also questions whether Scientology has any role here, which he notes has been attacking him for years with false accusations,” Paul said in a statement through his lawyer.

Ethan Hawke On Donald Trump's Presidency: 'The Artistic Community Thrives When Fascists Are in Charge'

Ethan Hawke has some thoughts about President-elect Donald Trump!

“In general, the artistic community thrives when fascists are in charge. So the only upside is that people in the arts now are motivated,” the 46-year-old actor recently told THR.

“Look the upset around the Nixon administration and the Vietnam War and what happened with music,” Ethan added. “And the films of the 1960s and ’70s are still seen as a high-water mark. People who cherish equality and fairness, who celebrate the diversity and the human spirit in all people, are feeling punched in the gut.”

Last night (November 27), Ethan got support from his Reality Bites co-star Winona Ryder while attending a special screening of his film Born to be Blue alongside director Robert Budreau at The Roxy Hotel in New York City.

Also in attendance to show their support for the upcoming film was Michael Stuhlbarg, Celia Weston and Paul Haggis.

Meryl Streep & Hugh Grant's Love In 'Florence Foster Jenkins' Is Realistic In Spite Of Infidelities!

Meryl Streep is all smiles while hitting the red carpet at the premiere of her film Florence Foster Jenkins held at the AMC Loews Lincoln Square 13 Theater on Tuesday (August 9) in New York City.

The 67-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Hugh Grant, Nina Arianda and Simon Helberg, as well as Meryl‘s daughter Louisa Gummer, Simon‘s wife Jocelyn Towne, Kelly Rutherford, Paul Haggis and designer Zac Posen with his mother Susan.

Meryl recently opened up about her and Hugh‘s love in the film and how it should not be dismissed in spite of the infidelities.

“I think especially, peering into other people’s relationships, it’s almost always not what you think it is from the outside, and I think it’s an accurate portrayal of realistic, delusional love,” Meryl explained (via CBS News). “It’s realistic because it is what it is and there is illusion and they both prop up… in this bubble of happiness.”

“I mean one of the genius things that Stephen did that’s embedded in the film is even in the margins, you feel the warmth,” Meryl added. “There’s so many analogies to now, figuring out what makes life worth living. Love and art, as far as I’m concerned, is right smack in the middle. So the compromises that people make to keep their happiness intact — I think that’s all in the service of good.”
