Taylor Swift Moved Evermore's Release Date Twice, In Secret, For Paul McCartney

Taylor Swift looked out for Paul McCartney!

The legendary Beatles entertainer has been promoting his upcoming album McCartney III, which is set to be released tonight. Taylor found out she and Paul would have competing albums, so she actually moved her album Evermore‘s release date twice to accommodate.

“I did the Rolling Stone cover with Taylor Swift and she just emailed me recently. And she said, ‘I wasn’t telling anyone, but I’ve got another album.’ And she said, ‘So I was going to put it out on my birthday,’ which I think was the 10th,” Paul explained to Howard Stern on his SiriusXM show.

“And then she said, ‘But I found out you were going to put it out on the 10th. So I moved it to the 18th’ and then she found out we were coming out on the 18th so she moved back to the 10th,” he said. “So I mean, you know, people do keep out of each other’s way. It’s a nice thing to do.”

During their chat, Sir Paul and Taylor talked about writing under different pen names.

“I think, when a pseudonym comes in is when you still have a love for making the work and you don’t want the work to become overshadowed by this thing that’s been built around you, based on what people know about you. And that’s when it’s really fun to create fake names and write under them,” Taylor said, as Sir Paul asked if she’s ever done that.

“Oh, yeah,” she said.

“Oh, well, we didn’t know that! Is that a widely known fact?” he asked.

“I think it is now, but it wasn’t. I wrote under the name Nils Sjöberg because those are two of the most popular names of Swedish males. I wrote this song called ‘This Is What You Came For’ that Rihanna ended up singing. And nobody knew for a while. I remembered always hearing that when Prince wrote ‘Manic Monday,’ they didn’t reveal it for a couple of months,” she explained.

“Yeah, it also proves you can do something without the fame tag. I did something for Peter and Gordon; my girlfriend’s brother and his mate were in a band called Peter and Gordon. And I used to write under the name Bernard Webb,” Sir Paul said.

Taylor also made a few comments about her current relationship. See what she said!

Taylor Swift Opens Up About Balancing Her Relationship With Joe Alwyn & Fame

The 30-year-old folklore singer opened up in an interview with the legendary Paul McCartney in an interview for Rolling Stone.

During their chat, Taylor discussed the meaning behind one of her folklore songs, “Peace,” which includes the lyric “give you my wild, give you my child.

“‘Peace’ is actually more rooted in my personal life. I know you have done a really excellent job of this in your personal life: carving out a human life within a public life, and how scary that can be when you do fall in love and you meet someone, especially if you’ve met someone who has a very grounded, normal way of living. I, oftentimes, in my anxieties, can control how I am as a person and how normal I act and rationalize things, but I cannot control if there are 20 photographers outside in the bushes and what they do and if they follow our car and if they interrupt our lives. I can’t control if there’s going to be a fake weird headline about us in the news tomorrow,” she said.

When Sir Paul asked if her partner sympathizes with the struggle, Taylor said “Oh, absolutely.”

“But I think that in knowing him and being in the relationship I am in now, I have definitely made decisions that have made my life feel more like a real life and less like just a storyline to be commented on in tabloids. Whether that’s deciding where to live, who to hang out with, when to not take a picture — the idea of privacy feels so strange to try to explain, but it’s really just trying to find bits of normalcy. That’s what that song ‘Peace’ is talking about. Like, would it be enough if I could never fully achieve the normalcy that we both crave? Stella [McCartney] always tells me that she had as normal a childhood as she could ever hope for under the circumstances.”

Paul McCartney Tells All About the Beatles' Breakup & The Biggest Misconception People Have

Paul McCartney is opening up about the biggest misconception about him and it has to do with the breakup of The Beatles.

The 78-year-old singer talked with British GQ for the cover story of the magazine’s September 2020 issue, which is available on newsstands this Friday.

“I suppose that when The Beatles broke up, perhaps there was a misconception that we all sort of hated each other. What I realize now is that, because it was a family, because it was a gang, families argue. And families have disputes. And some people want to do this and some people want to do that,” Paul said.

Paul then explained the reason why he decided to sue his band when he left the group in 1970.

“So I think what came about after that … the only way for me to save The Beatles and Apple – and to release Get Back by Peter Jackson and which allowed us to release Anthology and all these great remasters of all the great Beatles records – was to sue the band. If I hadn’t done that, it would have all belonged to Allen Klein,” Paul said. “The only way I was given to get us out of that was to do what I did. I said ‘Well, I’ll sue Allen Klein,” and I wasn’t told I couldn’t because he wasn’t party to it. ‘You’ve got to sue the Beatles.’”

Paul also talked about issues he had with the late John Lennon.

“I remember reading an article, an interview with Yoko, who, OK, she was a big John supporter, I get that, but in this article she goes, ‘Paul did nothing. All he ever did was book studio.’ And I’m going, ‘Err? No…’ And then John does this famous song, ‘How Do You Sleep?’, and he’s going, ‘All you ever did was ‘Yesterday’…’ And I’m going, ‘No, man,’” Paul continued.

He added, “But then you hear the stories from various angles and apparently people who were in the room when John was writing that, he was getting suggestions for the lyrics off Allen Klein. So, you see the atmosphere of ‘Let’s get Paul. Let’s nail him in a song…’ And those things were pretty hurtful.”

Last month, Paul actually wrote a super sweet note for bandmate Ringo Starr on his birthday.
