Phil Mickelson Wants to Do Another 'The Match' Golf Tournament with These Stars!

Phil Mickelson is ready to hit the green again!

After this past weekend’s The Match: Champions For Charity, the 49-year-old golf pro said that he’s trying to make the tournament an annual event – and wants Michael Jordan and Steph Curry to participate next year.

“I think you could showcase guys like Steph Curry and Michael Jordan or Tony Romo and Patrick Mahomes, who are all good golfers, elite talents and have great personalities,” Phil shared with the LA Times.

“Those personalities are going to come out with this event,” Phil continued. “Or you could have someone who loves the game and is competitive but is really entertaining like Larry David and Bill Murray. I think that could shine.”

Over the weekend, Phil and Tiger Woods partnered up with Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, respectively, in the tournament, which benefited a variety of organizations to assist with coronavirus pandemic relief efforts.

The Match raised over $20 million dollars for the organizations.

Golfer Phil Mickelson Being Investigated for Insider Trading

Pro golfer Phil Mickelson is reportedly under investigation by the FBI and the Securities and Exchange Commission for possible insider trading.

Investigators are trying to figure out if Mickelson and Las Vegas gambler William Walters may have traded illegally on private information that was provided by billionaire investor Carl Icahn, according to Reuters.

The investigation is centering on suspicious trades in Clorox Co. options just days before Icahn announced that he was accumulating a 9.1% stake in the company.

Phil, 43, is one of the top golf players in the world, basically second in fame and recognition to Tiger Woods. He has won forty-two events on the PGA tour, including the Masters three times.
